Description of the petite TRAY!
Pack of prepared spaghetti and meatballs
a drawing of a group of people
Most interesting water isle ever!
a grocery store aisle
This is a 7 oz, filet, NOT from Langensteins. This steak is a nice center cut steak with marbling. This is what I ordered but didn't get.
Chocolate Mardi Gras petitfours
two bottles and a paper bag
The seasoned rice is so yummy
Front of the store
Langenstein's center cut filet sold to a shopper. Flat, thin, no mareling, not center cut. This is 6.75 oz. Not happy.

Very disappointing experience with the online food order service. First we ordered a pound a what the website claims is "lump crabmeat" to be handed over a pound of just regular backfin. While backfin is good crab meat it is usually less expensive than "lump" crabmeat. Also in the same order we expected a prime filet. The website advertises a 5lb tenderloin which has been trimmed. What we received was a 3.5 trimmed tenderloin and 1.5 lbs of ground meat which they claimed to be the trimmings. Another 1/2 lbs of beef ended up in the trash at Langensteins. So I ended up paying $217. For. 3.5 lb tenderloin and 1.5 lbs of ground beef and 1/2 lb of trash. So in terms of true cost for the filet is $62.00 per pound. Had the website disclosed any of this I would have felt it was on me to make the choice to buy from them. To just hand it over with a tenderloin 60% of the weight you pay for is unacceptable. When I questioned the manager they treated me like I was being unreasonable. Won't step foot in Langensteins ever again even though we have shopped there for almost 20 years.

Great, not over-crowded grocery store with fresh options tucked into Metairie road. I've always known about Canseco's down the street but it's nice to know that there's a store with similar level of quality nearer to where I work. Check out the fresh pastas and dairy options especially. I found some new items I don't normally see other places.

1st i'd like to comment on the past employees opinion of his work place. There is no way he would have shared his view of the store with management. His work enviroment would have changed drastically. Probably have cut his hours and gotten all the unfavorable tasks in the store. Have seen how it works 1st hand.As a customer i enjoyed getting the prepared foods mainly the stuffed potatoes. Well, funny how time and cost change that. A stuffed potato is just a potato. Prepared or not. 4.99 was acceptable but 6.99 is crazy. This store caters to the higher income residents that dont have go look at price tags. 6.99 for CDM coffee no thanks. My friend and I were in the store yesterday. We went to the bakery area. He wanted a slice of cake. No price on the container. Asked a worker who came around and told him she had moved the shelf identifyer tags and never put them back in place. She told him the yellow cake was 3.99 so we got it. We were in line talking and didnt see what rang up. Whdn he got home the receipt said 5.99. Horrible how i was given incorrect information. Well i will not go back into any of the Langensteins any longer. Had more then enough of these stores. They offer nothing for me. The potatoes should always be a leader item in that section.

This grocery store is a bit on the expensive side, but it is local.Parking can be an issue. People tend to not pay attention, and I have seen some bad accidents in the lot. Metairie road can be difficult to cross at times, as it can get busy and the sun can get in your eyes, making it difficult to see.The prepared items in the deli are wonderful if your on the go. The selection of wines is extensive. The fruit is always fresh. It is the closest grocery to my sisters current house, so if I am there, it is perfect to stop in here and pick up the quick item or two. It is a bit on the expensive side, so it is not my go to place to make groceries. The staff is always friendly, everything is well stocked, the aisles are easy to maneuver. Great service!

During the Covid situation, and being in the older and more susceptible demographic, I have been using the curbside pickup option at Langenstein's. First off, Langenstein's has always been a top notch and elite grocery. ( Even saw Jonathan Goodman shopping there years ago) but besides the great selection and great meat and seafood department, the service is excellent. I used the app to place a sizable order and it was ready for pickup within 12 hours. Pickup is a breeze and you have zero exposure to anyone. You call to let them know you are outside and they load your trunk and that is it. And prior to arriving, I was called to discuss replacements for items that went out of stock ( only one thing). And they promptly found an equal to what I needed. Great store.

Langenstein used to have good prepared food- homemade and tasty but it has lost its edge because they've cut back on ingredients- the Popeye dip no longer has water chestnuts and the red beans have neither meat nor ham but the worse has to be the spaghetti and meatballs for $9.99 you get Sam's frozen mini meatballs and poured out of a jar sauce. They didn't even think of masking the lousy meatballs with sauce. It's ashamed that such an institution has fallen so far

To the Langestien family, we have been shopping at the Metairie store since it opened. The meat/fish selection and the butchers are great. But since covid , the Metairie store management has gotten worse and worse. Your last real manager is down the street building a new grocery You have too good of a legacy to let it go bad with poor management and horrible customer relations Please put the right people in place

I've shop at these grocery stores for many years. This location is very racist and I should have known better, because of the area. The cashier and manager were both unprofessional for a simple question

Buyer beware! This is the petite cheese tray. The pictures online look so much better. The petite cheese tray is not made in-house. Very disappointing for the amount of money.

I've been shopping at Langenstein's on a weekly basis for over 20 years. I know the Covid crisis tested everyone, but most stores have transitioned beyond that now. BUT, I still find a very inconsistent quality of deli foods here. For instance over the past several months, I have bought (from the deli case) spaghetti sauce with meatballs - only to discover NO meatballs in the container at all, then a container of chicken & sausage gumbo had NOT ONE SINGLE piece of sausage in it. Also meat lasagna - had meat AND spinach in it. Several of the soups had so much salt that they were barely edible even after adding milk. In the past all of these items were excellent. There are several other instances I could list, but it's just too lengthy. Someone needs to address quality control. I still shop there but have learned to avoid most of the prepared deli items. Disappointing.
