Love this dive, always a time that I regret, but seem to remember. Its clean, compared to a dumpster. Its nice, compared to a burned funeral home. The patrons all have one foot in a funeral home. Its a Metairie end of the road kinda place. Next stop, your eulogy.

This place is a solid three star 24/7 dive bar with very comfortable bar stools with bonus points for the 24/7 part. Metry still allows smoking in the bars so that will drive me out of a place really fast but fortunately on my last visit nobody was committing smoke suicide. This is also a spot where you can get your bartender to cook you a burger and I had a discount coupon so I took a chance and tried the burger and I probably would never get the burger again unless it was 4am and there were no other options but there usually are better options even then so I would choose those. So just come here to drink drinks and play some chess or something like that.

Hole in the wall with a good burger. Good place to find locals on the bar crawl. Could be worse I guess

Let's start off by saying the food wasn't bad. The experience I could have done without. Yes they smoke in this bar.Yes the chairs are comfortable -- kind of gives you the feel of plush patio furniture. The bartender was veryyy let's just say b/c of his personality I wouldn't ever recommend or visit here again. I don't even remember him washing his hands when he was preparing the food. Yes ... yes.. the bartender prepares the food. God I hope I don't get worms from contamination. He (the bartender) was very interactive and engaged - like too engaged. Like as we were eating he was sitting right in front of us talking to us and watching us eating .. I couldn't have felt more uncomfortable and then he decided to show my girlfriend a video of the other bartender running around with only shoes on.. I wish - I wish I could tell you I was lying but no.. The gentleman was entirely naked in this video and the bartender did ask can he show her something disturbing but "We" wouldn't have thought it will be a video of their coworker naked.. Were they Friendly in the bar ? Yes. Music and parking? Yes.But I would never ever return here. Ever.

Went here because I saw the offer on Facebook. On FB some were comparing it to port of call- not. The bartender cooks the hamburgers, and it was like frozen patties that were about 1/8" thick. Like something you buy from Sam's by the case when you're trying to turn a quick buck at a fair. And 3 burgers for $29, a total rip. The only reason why the get 2 stars is because the dog ate it. Krystal burger makes a better burger. I cannot think of ANYONE that makes one that is worse.

I've driven past this little dive bar hundreds of times. The outside is lit up by a giant fluorescent sign. The Lamplighter. In Metairie, on lower Veterans, near the new Starbucks (or rather, recently moved), and right next to BK (actually, the parking lot is shared). And though I've never been much of a drinker, I was curious enough to look for reviews.I found the business on Yelp, but there were no words about it. I looked around a little more and found two lone reviews. The first one talked about how good one of the bartenders made burgers. The other one is the one that got me in the door. It said something like "cheap drinks, weird people....open late (never closes)". Its the weird people that did it for me. I, apparently am one of them.My first time there, I didn't even make it in the door before, someone said "I've never seen you before....what's your name?" or some such similar attention grabbing statement. I had to excuse myself just to get a drink. As was mentioned before, I'm not a big drinker, so the two drinks I have will be nicer. I'm not a Bud guy, or Miller, or PBR. I think those taste like crap. So I walked in and got an Abita Purple Haze for $3. All of the bottles are $3. Sam Adams, Newcastle, Red Stripe, the Abita crew, you name it.Everyone there is nice and welcoming. It's like a little vagabondish family. There are regulars, there all the time, and there are frequenters, a couple times a week. It's totally cool, they've got a video jukebox, so the music selection is excellent, compared to a CD jukebox. There are dart boards, but I've never seen people playing. I hear they're going to bring the pool table back inside eventually. So, it is with much reluctance that I put the word out about the Lamplighter bar and lounge. I almost don't want people to go and ruin it's quaint affection. It's like the dive version of Cheers. With weird people. I honestly didn't think I would find that in Metairie. If you're weird (excessively intelligent and creative) and seek the same, but do not want the hassle of driving (the 6 miles) to the French Quarter, stop on by. More younger drinking at night, much older during the mornings, not sure about the afternoons yet. But you get the picture.

I run a bar in Laplace so I came here for food after closing, 4-8-21. We ordered food and the bartender on shift became immediately irrate. She started begins to yell after making an order of wings that because inconsiderate customers ordered food that it would now take 20-30 mins for any food order or drink order. After cooking the order and told everyone they needed to leave and close out all tabs... I've paid for my food and am now being denied? This is bullshit! I'll gladly take her job of she's incapable of doing it correctly. I'd rate no stars if I could.

Megan Clark works at lamp lighter lounge. I thought she wat a friend. Until I ordered a a burger. She promptly decided I was "too drunk". What did I do? Order a burger? Anyway I'm never going to be going back. A 24/7 grill and my asking for a burger? Being told no after one drink? I just wanted a burger.
