The Lamar Dixon is a large building that hosts many different events. One of which we go to is the Hot Air Balloon Festival. Inside the building the have many craft and food vendors. The grounds are huge. You get to walk and watch the balloons fill up. There is a big field they put a carnival at for the kids. It's a nice event. They also have other events such as the reptile show, outdoor concerts and shopping events. There is plenty of parking available as well!

My family and I live in our RV full-time. Honest reviews are very important for people like us. My family and I stayed here for six months in 2020. Positives: bathrooms are huge and very clean. Negatives: they jam you in like sardines at this RV park. You have no room for anything! Your Slide outs are damn near touching your neighbors slide out or camper. All the residents of this park are we working men and women. Therefore they get loud and drunk as hell from 5 PM to 10 PM every day and on Friday and Saturday it's a cluster fuck. They have on site security but they are incompetent. I'm pretty sure I saw a prostitute in the park one night and then again a few months later. This park is just OK. I'd stay here again if I had to but I hate the fact that they jam you in so close together with other RVers.

I have been here plenty of times whether it be for graduations, the circus, and so on. Yesterday I went to the Hot Air Balloon Festival. This was my first year attending and OMG! Mind blown!! Everything was so nice there were different vendors everywhere. Inside you could buy a lot of things, sign up for things, and taste samples as well. Walking into the festival itself was actually pretty cool. And talk about tons of people my goodness (keep your kids close) my daughter truly loved it here. There was a lot of great food like you would get at a fair, they had really fun carnival rides way in the back, face painting, arts and crafts, and even a magic show! It was pretty awesome, there was also a petting zoo! This is a must go event and something for the kids too.

"Large expo center, multipurpose areas and more". I have been here on several occasions for a variety of events. It's huge! If you know where the Tanger outlets are, you will be able to find this place. They have festivals, concerts and private events here. One of the biggest events hosted here each year is the Hot Air Balloon Festival. Every city needs to have a venue with various multi-purpose rooms, so multiple things can happen at once. There are outdoor areas and indoor/outdoor spaces. Parts of the facilities needs some facelifts (such as bathrooms) and maybe some kitchen areas, too. For the most part, the events I have been to here have been quite enjoyable and each year, like it or not, I end up at an event here!

The family and I came here for the hot air balloon festival. We have been before in the years past and had a good time. This time, however, was just the worst. I understand the people working these events are not all employees for the Lamar Dixon Expo Center, but they should have some say over the people working events and the security they have at the entrance areas. We paid $10 to enter the grounds and made our way to the hot air balloons. We walked around for 30 minutes in circles bc we couldn't find any indication hot air balloons were ever there or would ever arrive. We high tailed it back to the front to make sure we were at the right festival. We were greeted at the exit by an officer of some sort who informed us the balloons don't arrive until 630! This was at 1230!! I asked if we could have a refund as we had just walked in, only to find out we had to wait for 6 hours to see balloons. He said they never fly them in the daytime (lie-we've been before and it was well before 630 that they went up). I said they could have put a sign up warning people not to waste their time or money if they actually wanted to see balloons before dusk. Not everyone can stay until nighttime (we couldn't). Some people drove long distances (we drove an hour). At least be honest about what your having people pay for (nasty overpriced festival food, cheesy games, and crappy rides). It was very hot today, so if they had a sign saying due to the heat we can't put the balloons up until dusk that would have been fine. Better yet, have it on the website so people don't waste their time going for nothing!! Don't tell me air balloons don't fly during the day! Wow. Just awful.

Don't ever stay @ this Expo Center if you are staying here because your working here from out of town. They do have 2 Rv lot locations and it is so noisy you cannot not sleep day or night. They charge $500 a month per Rv lot which is entirely too much money to park you Rv in a dirt lot with tons of dust blowing constantly from the traffic. The lots are so close you can hear the people in the Rv next to you snoring and using the bathroom. With bands playing day and night you'll never get any sleep. There are no rules in the park. Once I went outside to find a few guys I didn't know pulled the tailgate down on my truck and where drinking and partying in the bed of my truck as they have no outside tables. Crazy a$$ place to stay.

We called Lamar Dixon to see if they had room for our camper since we are flooded. A nice man answered the phone and said under the circumstances we could stay at no charge for a few days. We were greeted by the rudest woman ever when we arrived telling us that person didn't know what they were talking about and we had to pay regular price. We asked to be placed next to the bathhouse and was told promptly a no because she didn't want us next to their event workers. Guess she wasn't raised in the south because she doesn't know the meaning of southern hospitality!
