A loving dog that was rejected by this place, because of his breed

These people are animal racists! I emailed to schedule my dog for a bath, and they called me instantly, so excited and happy to schedule him... then they found out. He was an American bully and put me on hold. Then they came back and said "sir, we're sorry but we're just not taking any new clients right now because there is some very bad respiratory diseases going on". BOLD FACED LIE!! the reality is that these people are just as racist towards dogs as someone would be to a human. My dog is the most sweet and loving animal ever and because he happens to be an American bully. They refuse to even see him. Most places will at least lie and say it has to do with some kind of insurance policy but they straight up told me that the owner does not want American bullies. Shame on you!

In 2008, I welcomed my first canine companion, a dachshund named Noel, into my life. She not only captured my heart but also played a pivotal role in helping me embrace a softer side. As our journey unfolded, I sought veterinary care, leading me to the facility in question. Reflecting on the years that followed, I hold mixed sentiments about their services. When Noel experienced a debilitating back issue, the recommendation to euthanize her was firmly declined. Opting for a more pragmatic approach, I declined a $3000 surgery and instead relied on a prescribed regimen of medications, which remarkably aided in her recovery. Noel lived another 7 1/2 to 8 years, leaving an indelible mark on our lives. My recommendation is to with these folks always get a second opinion

I had my first visit at Lake Animal Hospital this morning and I am very happy that I chose them out of all the other nearby veterinary locations that I had considered. First of all, Amy, who answered the phone, was by far the friendliest person out of the other places I had called. She was very concerned with my dog's condition and offered me several time slots to choose from, as well as informing me that I could print and fill out new client paperwork to bring with me to my appointment to save time. She also went over details of treatment options and pricing with me so that I had an idea of what to expect. This was really helpful with me being a new patient to the practice and clueless about what the average fees were for exams. (It turns out that their fees are reasonable and on par with other clinics in case you were wondering). When I arrived, I was kindly greeted by Kim and other staff members who made Stella, my Frenchie, and I feel very welcome. I knew that we would be in good hands. Dr. Kreider and her assistant were very knowledgeable about canine care and absolute angels - I could tell that they adored Stella (and animals in general) because of the attention they gave her. She was very cooperative with them during her exam and tests, so she must have felt very comfortable too. I was worried that the testing might be an all day process, so I was relieved that I was in and out within an hour. Their schedule is actually perfect for those who work full-time since their office opens at 7:30 AM and closes at 6. Furthermore, they are open on Saturday mornings and even on Memorial Day, which is when I scheduled Stella's follow-up.Before I left, Amy gave me a demonstration on how to squeeze ointment into Stella's eyes, and Kim even held Stella for me while I checked out and brought her to my car since my hands were full! Not all places and people will do that, so it really did mean a lot to me. Thank you so much to the staff for taking such great care of us today. I truly appreciate it and definitely recommend them to everyone!!P.S. They have an online pet portal which makes it even easier to schedule appts and refill medications.

Dr. Kreider and her ENTIRE staff are awesome. They took very good care of my Caviar Cognac throughout her journey with me. They were so very honest and caring to me and my dog for 16.5 years. This is the ONLY place I would every send my pet. Thanks again for all the love and compassion - hope to see you guys soon in the near future.

Brought the boy here for the last look at the boo boo that monopolized us for the past 2 weeks (fleur di lis fence in paw). The wound has healed and now all he wears is a yellow and green (go Packers) bandage.Thank you Lake Animal for keeping it under 400 and the Packers themed bandage!

It's a bit far from me, but they support Animal Rescue New Orleans and therefore recently completed heart worm treatment on my adopted dog which went well despite the fact that it's pretty much impossible to get a Lab stay calm during 8 weeks of treatment. Everyone was very friendly and the offices seem clean and well organized. I've already got a vet in Uptown who's closer to me and I will be returning there but my experiences at Lake were generally positive and I would recommend them to anyone in the area. And kudos for providing discounted treatment to ARNO for their rescue dogs, that alone says a lot of good things about them.

They killed my yorkie Tessa with their incompetence. Told me she had an UTI and gave me antibiotics. When she wasn't better the next week I brought her back and they gave her back to me without even checking her. Said their was nothing they could do for her? So I took her to another Vet immediately and was told she was in kidney failure and I could take her home for 2 days and spend time with her. This is when the pandemic started. She had to be put down 2 days later. Till the day I die I will NEVER forgive them or forget how they let her suffer!

I don't think my Senior dog would be doing so well (and still with me for that matter) if it weren't for Dr. Merriweather and team. Most of all they are understanding and flexible, not to mention thorough and professional. I absolutely adore this Vet and feel so lucky to have been referred to them by a good friend.
