On our second visit to New Orleans, we decided that we wanted a more in-depth understanding of this beautiful city, and started reading reviews on tour companies. We were so impressed by the ratings Nouvelle Orleans 1718 Private Tours received, we didn't hesitate to book a tour with them. This is a locally owned and operated company (support local!!) and it was so evident by our guide's love of and knowledge about the city; he's a virtual New Orleans encyclopedia. Ben brought history to life, and shared so many fascinating details about the culture, architecture, cuisine & music - taking us places we would have never found on our own. The tour was personal and customized, unlike any other city tour we've experienced... and so comfy, in the immaculate and spacious SUV. He gave recommendations for things to see and do during the rest of our trip. If you are looking for a unique and personal tour experience, you will be THRILLED with Nouvelle Orleans 1718 Private Tours. Excellent tour with Benjamin to Oak Alley and Laura plantations. Easy hotel pick up for a five person, private tour. We brought our own beverages but Benjamin supplied water the entire, trip which was great. He was knowledge about the city and the history, very enjoyable ride to and from the plantations. Definitely would recommend this tour company for easy, stress free, private tours in NOLA.

Where do I even start.... At the beginning!We booked a private bar/city tour for our group of 6.Ashton was the most amazing tour guide a group could ask for! He picked us up in his SUV and was right on time. He drove us all over telling us the history behind some things, including the why's, the why nots and everything thing in between.He took us to a beautiful old hotel/bar where we sat out in the front patio like real Southern Ladies (however we were drinking cocktails not sweet tea). We drove all around the garden district and he pointed out famous people's homes. We stopped at a cemetery where he explained the saying "I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole". We drove along the Bayou while he talked about the differences in house styles. We asked for a good local dive bar, and he delivered!Last but not least.... the granddaddy of them all things to experience.... the drive through daiquiri bar! Yep, he drove us through and we were able to order our "slushy" drink of choice.If you are going to take a tour, step it up a notch and tour the town with Ashton!

This is a MUST DO on your next trip to New Orleans! I know, I know...you're "too cool" for tours, or "what a waste of time"...... au contraire!!! You haven't done a tour until you've done one with Ashton. What an awesome afternoon!!We were visiting the city for my mother's 80th birthday. She loves the city, but has trouble walking long distances now - so I went online looking for a private driving tour of the city. After reaching out via email, Ashton responded quickly and gave some great suggestions on the areas would could tackle in a 3 hour tour of the city. His communication was clear and prompt - and he gave excellent information during our correspondence.Cut to tour day. Ashton arrived promptly at our hotel with a nice, comfortable SUV stocked with water, maps, anything we might want. We toured the entire city covering the French Quarter, the Garden District, Uptown, Bayou St John, Lake Ponchatrain, City Park, Midtown, the 9th ward, the Bywater and the Marigny - a HUGE LOOP and I feel SO informed now. We talked endlessly about everything including history, architechture, culture, food, drink, celebrity homes, economic info on the city, levee and pump station infrastucture, and then just some super fun and interesting facts about everything in between. His knowledge of the city is OUTSTANDING. I'm not a "tour" person - but I WILL book with Ashton again. This more "adult" tour for my mother was awesome, but I'm guessing his French Quarter Pub tour is a hoot. He's just the kind of person you can listen to for hours... this guy knows his stuff and has a great personality to match.We would recommend him for any kind of tour offered (driving, walking, plantation or city) - and would give him 10+ stars if we were able. Thanks Ashton for a lovely day - you made my mom's birthday afternoon incredibly special.Next time.... we just need to see those crocodiles.... :-)

Our tour was incredible! Ben was extremely knowledgable, professional and entertaining. We were able to see so many incredible sites and the tour just flew by. It was truly the highlight of our visit.

Our tour with Ben was the perfect orientation to New Orleans. We opted for a Private City Tour, with the Option 1 (Plantation) add on. Company co-owner Cyd made the planning process easy by quickly providing carefully-worded, thorough responses to our questions ahead of our trip. During our tour, with Ben driving, we were free to focus on the beauty of the city -- and the wealth of historical information he provided -- without having to worry about the logistics of getting from point A to point B. The tour gave us glimpses of the city that we wouldn't have been able to discover on foot, and enabled us to better decide where to focus the remainder of our time. Since our party included only two people, we were able to ask more questions than would be permitted in a larger group. I particularly appreciated Ben's recommendations for books and his responses to my many questions about local restaurants. We found Ben to be very polite, articulate, and fun to spend time with. He speaks with the level of detail and confidence of someone who knows the area extremely well and has been doing this for a while. His passion for New Orleans and its history is especially evident while discussing its cemeteries. We marveled at his speaking abilities, even as he navigated New Orleans' chaotic streets. Our experience was so enjoyable that my partner decided to book a Private Airboat Tour later in the week. He returned with very nice photos and video footage of nearby swampland and its wildlife, including several alligators. We certainly recommend booking a tour with La Vie!

Loved our tour with Benjamin! He is amazing. Benjamin is wealth of knowledge and both captivating and engaging. Our group was 3 adults and a 11 year old- We all loved it. We will be touring with him the next time we come to town.

On time and loved that we could customize the tour for our group. He had Fiji and Perrier water - awesome! Never stopped providing history the entire time. Great tour.

Ben and Cyd run a truly first class operation. We had a fabulous 3 generation overview tour of New Orleans and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Ben was knowledgeable of New Orleans history, architecture and food scene and he was entertaining and kind to my elderly grandmother and my daughter. We feel like we made a new friend and would recommend him without reservation. His car was super comfortable too and he was generous with his time.
