I met up with a friend for lunch and I didn't know much about this place. My friend made it there a few minutes before me and I asked him how the restaurant was. He told me, "The only language I've heard so far is Spanish." My response? "Perfect!" I knew I was in for a special treat because this place was a definite "hole-in-the-wall!"We walked up to the counter and tried to read the menu. I took a few classes of Spanish in high school and college, so I was able to understand a little bit. On the other hand, my friend took French so he was absolutely clueless! After asking for help from friendly workers and pointing at the menu, they were able to recommend great entrees for us. We ordered the Horchata, Bistek Encebollado, Fajita Mixta, and Platano Frito. We grabbed a table and the food came not too long afterwards. Both of our entrees came with salad, rice, and beans, while the Fajita Mixta came with some corn tortilla. We definitely got the bang for our buck here! It was a struggle finishing all of our food, but it was definitely delicious! The Platano Frito came shortly after our entrees and we absolutely loved them. They were freshly fried, heavenly pieces! I'm not sure how they fried them, but they were soft and slightly chewy, but still had that nice crisp in some spots. Overall, I would definitely return here again to try more of their dishes! Fogata means Fire in Spanish, but I'll have a little play of words here. "The food was so good, there's no way that I can Fogata bout this place!"

I walked in and asked if they accepted credit card. All they said was 'que?' That's when I knew I was in the right place. I tend to stick with the carne asada burrito. Though that's partially because I don't speak much Spanish anymore. But at lunch time they have all kinds of weird soups that I see the Spanish people eating but I can't tell what it is. Their green salsa is a fantastic emulsion salsa. All around super stoked I live near this place.

Stepping into this restaurant is like planting yourself smack dab in the in the middle of Tegucigalpa. I say this, of course, never having actually been to Honduras, but it's probably the closest I will get for now. The place is kind of like a Honduran version of Brown Derby....an assortment of treats to pick from, in addition to custom-made bits. Their lunch buffet was pretty awesome - two kinds of meat (carne asada and cerdo), mirliton, empanadas, etc...as much as you can fit onto a plate for 8 bucks. I want to come back for dinner and try their other menu items like the baleadas and Honduran and Mexican tacos. Or breakfast for their Huevos Rancheros.
