Kim Hibachi Sushi Bar And Grill

My friend and I were in Covington for a Dr appointment. It was after 2 pm & we had not eaten breakfast. We were in the mood for sushi but it seems most area sushi restaurants with 4+ ratings closed by 3 pm and didn't reopen until 4:30. We live in Bay St Louis, MS so before heading home we wanted to stop. I put in some other sushi place that was stated to be open but when we arrived at Kim Hibachi& Sushi I hadn't realized we were at the wrong location. You know, sometimes things just work out for the best. No one was in the place and I was a bit skeptical. We ordered anyway and I'm so glad we did! The service was prompt and very polite. The sushi that we ordered was excellent. My friend was not familiar with ordering sushi so I ordered for the both of us. We shared a burning man roll and a rainbow roll. The burning man role was quite delightful. The rainbow row could have had a little less crunchy in it, but it was still good. They're clear soup was really good and of course the little side salad with ginger dressing really good. It may be my go to spot. I have an appointment in Covington. definitely enjoyed finding this little hole in the wall!

Amazing food and service! Came here on a date without realizing we had arrived past their closing time. We said we wanted hibachi, and you could tell by their body language they weren't sure whether they should start another round of hibachi service that late, but they sat us at a hibachi table anyway by ourselves. Two customers left tables, and we were the only ones left in the restaurant. I immediately felt guilty for making the chef work after hours with no one left in the room, but the chef did the full show with a big smile and all the frills like we were the most important customers ever, and the food was excellent. I felt so grateful I tipped 30%, and the amazing customer service we received will have me coming back.

Low key, unassuming little place that dedazzles you with flavor. I highly recommend the poboy roll!

Kim Hibachi in Mandeville, LA delighted us all! Our Master chef cooked 8 meals in front of our eyes with superb skill & showmanship! Our meals were cooked to perfection before our eyes while the grandkids shrieked in amazement & laughter!

I'm sad to say this, because I can do any of God's peopleNo matter your nationality but I was treated so badly by these Asian people that I will have a very hard time patronizing at another Asian restaurant and for surely I will never patron here again! Beware, they don't like black people and for this I will blast this on every website that their name is attached too! Kim Hibachi customer Service made their food taste even worst! Some of the patrons were very mean and trying to chime in! (White of course) I have a freakin voice and there is nothing wrong with my taste buds! If I tell you your food is not desired and I want a refund what right do you have to tell me what you're not tasting! Maybe they don't eat what they serve us!!

Great family owned spot where they care about every customer. The hibachi is great and the home made white sauce is amazing. The fried rice might be the best part of kim's.

Food was good. Chef on autopilot. Could be a bit cleaner and more cozy; however overall good value for money. The fried rice was nicely spiced!

Love Kim's!! Our absolute favorite sushi& hibachi restaurant. Have eaten here plenty and have never had a bad meal or service. Kim and Udi are lovely people and treat their customers like family. If you've not tried Kim's treat yourself to an amazing meal and experience!

I gave it another try. Besides having to hassle with them due to the "no hibachi table for less than 2 people", the food has gone down and the place is dirty and worn. Floor is beyond sticky. Seats torn. Huge round table filled with "supplies". Employees act as though they are doing you a favor. There is so much potential here and they just don't seem to care. It was our go-to years ago. Not anymore.

Went last night and had Sushi and Hibach. I ordered the Filet Steak Medium and my date ordered regular steak and chIcken. There was so much fat on our steak (Gross) The small Salad that they gave me had a hair in it.(Gross) I ordered Sake and he brought me a bottle of carbonated sake, which unfortunately never knew it existed. It was Gross. The Sushi was not bad.. but the Spicy Mayo was gross. I use to really enjoy this place. Don't know if they changed Management, But I do not recommend this restaurant.
