This review is ONLY about their food/kitchen, not them as a bar. I'm not a bar person; I didn't drink or socialize when I went. So why did I end up here at all? Simple: food. And that's the ONLY thing I'm reviewing: the food experience. The food was actually pretty good! I got the crawfish cornbread and potato salad, which each came in their own little styrofoam container. The potato salad was pretty simple, which matches my preference. The cornbread was more of a side dish in terms of size, but it was moist and didn't skimp on fillings. The food is supposedly all made from scratch, which I have no reason to disbelieve.Potato salad was $2, cornbread was $5. My total bill was $9. I'm not sure if the extra $2 was the tax or the can of soda I asked about and didn't receive; hopefully the former. The portions were on the small side, so it's not cheap, but not bad considering. Now for the problem: *getting* the food. It ended up taking 4 different attempts/trips spread across two nights to get the food I wanted. The menu and hours advertised seem like they be more of suggestions/guidelines than actual rules. If you're actually going to bar-lurk then that probably doesn't matter, but if you're just after food... Go to an actual restaurant.

Great bar with a fantastic crowd. . A really great place to meet people that are more mature and less soap operas like some of the young hang outs in the parish. Ms Lisa welcomed us with open arms the first day we walked in. This place will be our regular hang out

Katz Lounge is fairly small and tucked back away from Paris Rd., such that unless you were looking for it, you probably wouldn't notice it was there... and I suspect that's the way they like it. I drove by it several times before noticing the small lightboard on the sidewalk out front advertising bands, and figured that if this wasn't the place that I was looking for, maybe it would be interesting anyway.Dim, with red lighting accents, this bar features an excellent quality pool table (75 cents a game), a jukebox, and an upstairs area for more private seating. On the night I was there, about all but one or two of the patrons were of the 40+ set, and clearly locals who knew each other.Certain nights feature karaoke, and live bands will play for some occasions. Beers are reasonably priced-- Abitas can be had for a fair $3. Being Louisiana, this bar is smoke-friendly, but the ceiling is significantly tall, so I don't believe that the place would become choked with smoke.

I am a Local. From the Chalmette area, I would say this is one of the nicer Lounges In Da Parish. Freindly atmosphere, mostly locals, hospitable employees, clean Billiard tables reasonably priced , and the drinks are great . My name is Mark Kline hope to see ya there and maybe we can play a game of pool or two.

Katz Lounge is located at 3004 Paris Road Chalmette, La. 70043 Look for the light board just before Judge Perez Drive headed south on Paris Road. the light board lists current and future activities and specials at the lounge. Whether your a long time resident, new to the area or just passing through you are welcomed to this establishment with open arms. The atmosphere is very friendly and the patrons are the best. There is karaoke on the weekends and the talent abounds. Drink prices are very reasonable. Management as well as staff are very friendly and the service is fantastic. There always seems to be something going on from free pool on Sundays from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and daily drink specials. It is a great place to catch a football game or just to hang out with old friends or to make some new ones. The bar is also Biker friendly and the location is great while out on that weekend or weekday ride. Stop by and say hello when passing through. I have recently relocated to the area from San Diego and I believe I have found a new place to hang my hat when I need to relax and have a good time.

I love Katz! Decent size bar and ALWAYS friendly staff and patrons. They have drink specials during the week and also have a bike night on Wednesdays. Pretty sure they have live music every weekend, which is always a good time! They have 2 pool tables and dartboards. Some of the times I have been they have free food. Bathrooms are always clean. Also, don't forget to say hi to the bar's cute orange cat walking around!
