Julia Street Bar & Grill

My hubby and I ate dinner here so we wouldn't have to leave the hotel after long day of sightseeing. He ordered the blackened chicken sandwich. It was pretty good from the bite I got. I ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo and it was good but there wasn't much rice in it which was a disappointment. We also ordered the cheese fries and they came out with the meal instead of as an appetizer like we wanted. The bartenders were quick to take food orders and service was decent.

Lowest quality steak I've ever had at a hotel bar. 40 dollar slab of crap. If you gotta get something here, grab a salad or burger. Oh, don't ask for water, sparkling water, or tea...they "don't have dat ".

This restaurant is inside the Embassy Suites on Julia St. With this one exception, Embassy Suites has never disappointed me. The restaurant was only open for dinner from 5 to 7 PM. There was no one taking orders and two of their staff just walked by us, ignoring us as we tried to get their attention. It took so long we just left and went to a different restaurant. There were two in that same block and another a block from those. Probably five places to eat in a three block radius. I do not recommend this one. I only reason I gave it two stars because I did enjoy the complimentary breakfast.

Spent the day traveling and too tired to go out to eat. Ordered the blacked chicken sandwich. The chicken wasn't blacked, and while it did get some sort of seasoning on it, there wasn't enough to even taste it. The part of the chicken that hung outside of the bun was cold, and what was under the bun was semi-warm. The 2/3s of the plate that was covered with crinkle fries (which were barely warm), were actually warmer than the chicken. The only reason I didn't send it back was I was too tired and I probably would have gotten the exact same thing on the reorder. Do not waste your money here. Walk a block or two and find any restaurant; the food will be better.
