Jones Creek Cafe & Oyster Bar

Good dinner at Jones Creek Cafe the other night. It was yummy! Shrimp poboy had a lot of shrimp! The onion rings were great! My son had the loaded cheese fries with added bacon. And, my husband had the George's combo poboy and loved it! The waitress and staff were attentive and friendly.

I am giving this 2 stars only because the service was excellent albeit a bit discombobulated as we went from one server to another and back (they were busy, which is fine). That being said they checked on us often and I have zero complaints about the service, I give the service 5 stars. The atmosphere is excellent and there are a number of screens to see whatever sports event you enjoy in the bar area. To open we ordered a dozen chargrilled oysters ($24.95) and when they came out (delivered by the cook) he apologized about the size of them and gave us an extra one to make up for it and they were okay but about the size of a nickel and overwhelmed in butter and garlic. My friend had a Shrimp Po-Boy which was fair to mediocre (according to him). I had the fried oysters and to say that the breading of said oysters was overdone is an understatement. Additionally, the breading was so over salted that it made them impossible to eat, practically inedible and I could only eat about 1/2 of them and then just gave up. It is sad to say that the best part of my meal was the grilled vegetables.

My husband and I went today for brunch. I had the 3 Egg Omelet with shrimp, which had a delicious cream sauce and my husband had Sunrise on the Ponchatrain. Everything was delicious!! I rarely eat everything on my plate but I did today!! Our server was great and the manager of the place, Desiree, was very welcoming. Definitely will be back!!

I did a to go order grill shrimp wrap w/ no tomatoes - sassy sauce. The waitress wrote down my order and i emphasized no tomatoes i'm allergic, she repeated it back to me. I also order to catfish strips. Waited 20 min at the hostess desk for the food. Listened to the waitresses complain about each other, there schedule, splitting tips with too many waitresses etcWaitresses brings out my food already bagged then i pay. i drive home and get settled go to eat the wrap and there are diced tomatoes through the wrap. Luckily i hadn't bit into it first. Also there was a ridiculous amount of sauce on the wrap to the pint the wrap was soggy & falling apart.Staff and restaurant needs to better - i could have been in the hospital over this!!! It's irresponsible of the restaurant not to follow orders!Had i had enough time i would have brought it back. The waitress didn't give me a receipt. I gave my friend the wrap because i couldn't eat it. Waste of time & money! I won't be going back any time soon.

this has to be one of the most disgusting places to eat in Baton Rouge. It reeks of cigarette smoke... The wait staff is clueless on the menu... the ambience is not existent... The cleanliness is pathetic... And the food is bush league. If you can get by the disgusting cigarette smoke outside and the pathetic service... you're a step ahead of where I was. Go ahead at city Café. It's better. This place is disgusting.

I see why this place has a 2.7 rating. The waitress was nice, but it took a long time for her to come take our order and then it took a long time to get our food. The food came out 57 minutes after we arrived. I had shrimp cocktail. It was room temperature not chilled and another employee had gumbo that had to be sent back because it was cold. I give this place a zero star.

The service was ok but when i found a hair in my food and asked to speak to the manager i was treated terribly. The servers looks overwhelmed and understaffed. The environment was disgusting. i would never recommend this place to anyone. if you come tip your servers well it's not an easy job!

Typical neighborhood bar customer service but the food was immaculate!! I got the Pasta Baton Rouge. It came out piping hot and was very flavorful. The unlimited champagne was a plus as well. The unlimited champagne was $8.95 with the purchase of an entree.

I have had my fair share of bad customer service but this place tops it. My food was undercooked and there was hair in my drink. The manager said there was nothing they could do. They wanted me to finish my food and drink my hairy drink. I was not trying to make a scene but the manager and owner were raising their voice at me and were belittling me. Other customers were just as shocked as I was and many of them said they weren't gonna come back.

I have been coming to Jones Creek for the past seven years. The food is always consistent. Great bar with neighborhood feel.
