I love this little library. The staff is sweet and efficient, the books are often old but they have a great kids section. There's a separate adult area where the elders meet or work. I love the online service bc it has a ton more books. But be forewarned, a lot of the local readers put books on hold so there can be a wait with new releases especially. Clean, not too cold and good vibes--with books!

This library is beautiful and clean and up to date! I love this library and it always has everything you need. My kids love coming here too because they have a huge children's section just for them! You can check out sooo many books at a time too! And they have a self check out where they can scan it themselves! They also have computers with learning games that they can play on. They love this too! Great way to spend an hour!

One of the best libraries around for kids, right here in Metairie!Soaring ceilings and huge kids area with tons of books on anything (sports, machines, military, race cars, etc). Plus a Louisiana black bear (taxidermy) that kids can pet.Friendly staff, lots of parking, and big inventory of key titles like Lion Witch and Wardrobe series.

I am a book worm and student . So love a good study place. They have two big parking lot so that is a plus!Unless other library that i been to, they have a coffee shop and place to eat at.No food is allowed in pass the foyer area.It is super huge and quiet with a big kid section as well. Another thing is that they have a few bug meeting rooms. You are allowed to use the space if you are a free organization.

This is probably the best library in Jeff Parish; there's also no better in Orleans Parish. An impressive local history section means I'm entertained for hours. This is also a great place to meet up with people or host your groups; they're terrific about working with folks, ands they have ample meeting space. The café in the front foyer makes it even better. Why can't all libraries be like this? Bonus for us Orleans Parish residents; bring your library card in and get reciprocal lending. That means I can check out material here, even though I don't live in Jefferson Parish. Awesome!

The Jefferson Parish Library is one truly designed to serve the people. It's expansive, with a vast collection of books, wide atriums for reading and study, and desks, study rooms, computers, and 3D printers. They even have a coffee shop and cafe at the entrance. It's big, it's wonderful, and it does justice to what public libraries aught to look like. It's been a wonderful place to study, with fast WiFi and printers available. The 3D Printing Lab seemed like a quirky novelty to me, until I made use of it myself. Initially, the idea seemed a bit daunting, as I have no background in design or computer modeling. The helpful staff member running it offered to help guide me through some of the basics of using design software, and explained how to upload pre-made files for printing. I downloaded and printed a life-size model of part of the human trachea (airway), which was surprisingly helpful for understanding what I was studying. The best part: It only cost a bit over $2 for materials. I'm looking forward to printing an Apple Watch charging stand next. The library seems to offer a number of other services to benefit the community. They advertise free computer classes, both for general computer skills as well as more specific applications, have a massive separate children's section that dwarves most libraries in of itself, and an upstairs "teen" area. There are often tutors working with elementary students at the front of the library, though I'm unsure if this is a program arranged directly by the library. It's hard to do better than a library like this.

This is an awesome library as it has plenty of everything. Books, DVD's, VHS tapes (old school), study rooms, and computers. The library also has this very convenient DVD self-checkout section that lets you rent DVD's without having to wait in line. Just make sure you go to the correct color kiosk to check-out your movie or else it won't dispense out the machine (they have colored stickers on the DVD cases that indicate which kiosk to go to). I love how spacious this library is. It never feels crowded because there are multiple rooms. The children's section alone is bigger than some of the other branches in the city. If you come to the library mainly to use a computer they got you covered with a big computer area on the 1st floor. If you go to the library often to study duck off into one of the dozen or so study rooms they have on the 1st and 2nd floor. Also there is a nice café in the library right inside the main door that has good sandwiches and wraps. Everything at this huge library is well organized. The staff is pretty helpful too. Oh and don't forget to check out the small gift shop before you leave. They have some great deals there on books, watches, keychains, etc (yeah all random stuff). Overall, this is my favorite library in the NOLA area.

I am an Italian-Sicilian American was told to be quiet while inside the Italian research library, a place dedicated to my ancestors, by the really rude older man that sits behind the desk near the back. How are you gonna tell me to shut up if you are the one who's talking? Do yall understand me? How are you gonna walk over and tell me to shut up WHEN YOU ARE THE ONE TALKING!!!!??? Yall don't do nothing about the 12 years olds with blue hair singing in the room next to me!!!

Our main Jefferson Parish library is an absolute jewel. The librarians and other people working there are friendly and helpful. I have yet to find a cranky person there and we go 2-3 times a week. They of course have a zillion books available to check out but they also have hundreds of movies and music that are also available. There is a gift shop run by volunteers that have a great selection of books and gifts very reasonably priced. Our favorite thing is taking our granddaughter to see Evelyn Brown for story time and sing along. She makes this so much fun for the kids, even the little ones and us big ones too.

This is the 2nd time coming and if it wasn't for my very reason for being here EXTREMEMELY IMPROTANT, then I WOULD WALK OUT AND LEAVE,...AGAIN!!!!!!!! The last time I checked libraries are supposed to be quite and this is not the case here!!!! Not because of other inconsiderate library patrons but because the STAFF CAN"T SHUT THE BLEEP UP!!!! They are having a dandy time just giggling and carrying on now the whole time I've been here! And i've been here for damn near an hour!!! ABSOLUTELY INCONSIDERATE, JUST ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!! For the majority, most are here because this is the only place where, yes they have computers and wifi, but the ONLY place that's supposed to be quite! I understand the importance of communication; especially now a days, where that may seem completely obsolete but the complete and utter disregard for the ones who voluntarily came to utilize these services that are supposed to be provided and then, aren't because of the very ones who are those hired , where as a part of one of the descriptions would have to be to ensure that the environment keeps its integrity and respect for what it is it's SUPPOSED TO BE THERE FOR!!!! JUST SIMPLY RUDE, INCONSIDERATE, DISRESCPECTFUL, AND A DAMN SHAME!!.......PLEASE SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
