Signage
Here's the very rude Indian lady.
Yikes! Poor little guy.
Mardi Gras beads and masks. They've got you covered.
Penis beads! It's what EVERYONE needs before heading to Bourbon Street, ha ha ha.
Front entrance. Don't let the bars on the windows scare you away.
Really nice and clean shop. The wine choices are pretty awful, as you'd expect.
This is the business sign.
Lots of chilled wine so you can grab and go.
Exterior. Nothing fancy but it's spotlessly clean inside.

Jazz Gumbo was cute. It's a traditional Souvenir Store. The 3 Shirts for $24 special doesn't have a bad selection at all. We ended up with 3 shirts and 2 shot glasses. The shot glass selection has some super cute options. The store is a nice size and has many options. This is also a great spot if you are looking for some festive New Orleans style party accessories. They have the beads, hats, mask, etc. Make sure you stop in and grab something for your favorite person. It's convenient and not over priced.

Wanted to pick up some souvenirs to being back home. I thought their shot glasses were overpriced, but the t-shirts seemed like a decent rat3e (4 for $25) however, when I went to Bourbon Street last night, I noticed they had for $5 cheaper.Overall, this store was much nicer than the other souvenir store a few store fronts over. I did not feel welcomed there, so I left and came here. Not sure if the store stores have the same ownership, but at least the employee here was somewhat cordial.

Most of their business has to come from tourists and conventioneers staying at the plethora of nearby hotels (I know that's why I was a customer), but this small corner convenience store is much nicer than it needs to be! The owner / employee was a very friendly Indian dude who was all smiles and really made our night. His pride in his business shows because he was very welcoming and the place was spotlessly clean. Decent everyday wine and beer choices for reasonable prices (considering the location) and your standard issue chips, nuts, candy and snacks. Minus a star for a big problem: NO COKE ZERO! But at least the drink coolers were set to a low temperature. My bottled water was ice cold! There's a small selection of New Orleans souvenirs if you're lazy and forgot to buy the kids a gator head or a postcard. They also sell a few Mardi Gras goods in case you don't want to flash the perverts on Bourbon Street for some $2 beads.

We came in the store with my service dog to buy an interesting shirt. The Indian lady manning the store rudely told me that dogs aren't allowed. I said it's a service dog, but she literally said she doesn't care and that she doesn't want the dirt. I said my service dog doesn't shed (and was even wearing shoes) but she still said she doesn't care. My service dog was just by my side and was quiet, so it's not as if there was a reason for the business to refuse the entry. How disrespectful!

Cool store, loved the dresses. Had to buy one myself. Bought the Magnolia pralines tasted nice. It had a hint of coffee taste, although it doesn't have any. Lots of cute novelty trinkets. The name of this store caught me off guard. I thought this was a shrimp and gumbo restaurant. But, it's a souvenir shop. Lots of cool items with affordable prices and friendly staff.

You visit a tourist area, and you'll find a few scams ... This one's definitely one to avoid.Visited here recently, and went to buy an item that was listed at one price .. Then was charged another at checkout. When handed the receipt to sign, we caught the error, and asked that it be fixed. The clerk then tried to play the "no refunds, no exchanges" game, even before we'd left the store or signed the receipt. There's plenty of shops selling cruddy tourist kitsch around here, so take it from a Yelp Elite--avoid this one and go to another that won't try to scam you by listing one price and charging another.

Wanted to see if there were gift shops in the area for more than your run of the mill gifts, however I couldn't find the hours for this business. My father called and an Indian woman answered the phone with just a "hello". No identifier for the business so he asked is this the Jazz Gumbo gift shop and it seemed like she wasn't understanding. He repeated himself a few times and we finally gave up. So we don't know if this is even the right phone number for the gift store, what the hours were, or what the Indian lady's issue was (which seems to be a large issue by reading some of the other reviews). Looks like I'll be going elsewhere.

This is your typical tourist souvenir store with anything and everything advertising New Orleans. It wasn't a bad shop, but it wasn't the best either. My niece got a NOLA T-shirt and a feather boa, my daughter got an alligator tooth (doubtful y'all) and a feather boa. The shop needed some serious work done on the ceiling and the floor.

15 of us were staying at the JW Marriott across the street for a bachelor party in May, and this was our morning rally point. Their bloody Mary's are made on the spot with plenty of horse radish, and even a dill pickle as a garnish, they were banging. Perfect for a little pick me up in the morning. After feeling a Little better, HUGE beers for $5, and AWESOME food (which was really unexpected) was exactly what we all needed. I was shocked at how good their muffaletta was, it was the best I have ever had. Its a divey bar, with great bloody Mary's and great food, what more could you ask for when on a 3 day bender!
