Never been disappointed as the food is always spot on. Always get the red beans and rice on Monday as it is a New Orleans tradition.

Disappointed. If you're not a regular you'll be ignored. 3 parties sat before we even got drinks. Napkins and drinks delivered slowly. Wait staff was friendly but so slow. We got the shrimp giardina... Nasty, honestly. Tasteless but with a strong tang of fish. Crab balls were the best part, fried and tasty. Ambiance is that of any small town place. Comfortable, everyone seems to know everyone else. I'm just passing through..but you should just pass by.

This was our first time here and I was hopeful. I was not disappointed everything we ordered was great the one thing I would change is fresh bacon on the baked potatoes instead of fake bits. The crab meat augratin was exactly that an awesome augratin sauce brought me back to to my mothers potatoes augratin. At most places they would smother the crab meat with tons of cheese and grease from the cheese. This is a gem of a restaurant we will be coming back.

This is a family owned and operated restaurant! They have been in business for over 40 years! Always a great meal!!

Yelp, you did me wrong ! Awful lunch. Fried catfish bleh, rice and beans so soupy. Gumbo was salty.

Best kept secret in Marrero!!! I'm so sorry I started munching on the food before I snapped the pic. But let me tell you this food was delicious!!!! I had the Eggplant Orleans w/garlic butter pasta. I could eat this everyday!!!! My husband raved about the oyster poboy (not pictured because he ate it too fast) Now, it's not a fancy place by any means...the decor is a bit clunky (Zydeco style) and the ambiance is lacking. I wish they would place smooth jazz or zydeco music to set the mood a bit better and jazz up the decor a little. With all of that said, I will be back!

Jake's is fine. They do everything ok, but nothing Phenomenally. The fried fish and shrimp are good, however the specialty fried items (stuffed shrimp, mushroom, crab) all tend to taste the same. The dining experience is uninspiring and the wait staff, while friendly, arent that good.

I love Jakes. I tried it with my friend and not only was the cashier super friendly and polite, the food was great. I got the seafood plate and I enjoyed it. Seasoned well, cooked properly and sufficient portions for price.

Tried the stuffed crab and fried shrimp platter, it was very underwhelming. The crabcake was very small and there were only 6 shrimp...not sure how that could be called a platter. The shrimp were also extremely bland, almost like no seasoning was used.
