Jaeger's Seafood & Oyster House

Two locals wanted to get some oysters during the Mardi Gras season and decided on Jaeger's. The service was terrible, for a Sunday, and a fairly empty establishment. The waiter seemed out of it and was struggling to stay focused. When we got our oysters they were not iced, some of them were not cold at all. My partner and I have been ill since we got home. The only reason I did not demand to see a manager was because I was feeling ill before I left, and It had already taken over 15 minutes to get our check.

Whether it was because I was extremely famished or because I was excited just to see for....or that it was actually really good...we enjoyed this restaurant. The food was delicious. The service was great! And it was a quiet Wednesday night. Even the customers were very nice as flying crab and lobster shells flew around. So glad we picked this place time at on this quick layover.

Shrimp pasta was amazing! Oysters were good but I've had better. Laid back, good ambiance and vibes. Great service and happy staff!

Incredibly loud, slow service, we were not given the option of outdoor seating (although there were outdoor tables) and ended up ordering our food to go. I will say the food, when we eventually got it, was quite good and the portions were generous.

First off, I have to give this restaurant five stars just for the customer service alone. Every time I come here everyone is so friendly. I love the southern hospitality.We previously had my dad's 70th birthday here in the party room. The room was gorgeous and the wait staff went above and beyond. There was so much food served. I felt like we were at a wedding. They even boxed everything up at the end of the night, and sent us home with food for a week. I would have to say the fried catfish was the star of the night. It was definitely a night my dad will never forget.When I do come to town to visit my parents, we always come here. The seafood is fresh and delicious. On this occasion, I started with the raw oysters which were large and fresh. I then had boiled crawfish, which were perfection. Of course I had to end with the fried catfish. This restaurant has become one of our family staples, and I look forward to coming back here for many years

I am so impressed with the food there! It was sooooo good! It was small, and had a long wait, but it was so worth it and would totally come and eat it again! I did get today's special with crab cakes and the butter creamy noodles.

So glad that we were able to make it to this gem of a restaurant. The food and hospitality was amazing. Traveling every year across the country for work and stumbling upon Jaeger's Seafood & Oyster house was the highlight of our trip. In fact it was one of the best meals that we've ever had while traveling and that says a lot. A restaurant that is deeply rooted in the foundation of family is exactly how everyone is treated. Compliments to the chef on the crawfish broil! The food was amazing and once you get a taste of it you just can't stop!!!! Highly recommend Jaegers to anyone traveling to New Orleans!!!

Our last visit to Jaeger's was somewhat disappointing. Food was not as good as it had been in the past. Bar staff was inexperienced

Just returned from a family dinner. We have been huge fans of Jaeger's for many years until tonight. Tonight was by far the worst in terms of the quality of food. We got the Jaeger's seafood platter that came with no fried oysters. There was 3lbs(joking but not really, over half the platter was fries) and were burnt and nasty. One platter had burnt hush puppies. The fried fish was terrible. We were speechless at how the quality dropped so much since our last visit.This wasn't just bad, this was shockingly bad. If im being honest, tonight was one of the worst seafood platters I've had in years. We've had mostly pleasant experiences visiting over the years but this... this was so bad that I'm gonna have to find a new place. Super disappointing to say the least.
