Every time we are visiting New Orleans we make it a point to drop in, say hi & do a little shopping. The owner's great, super personable and goes out of his way to help. Plus he is a plethora of useless knowledge, which just so happens to be my forte. We talk shop while the wifey peruses the dresses and shoes and tried to reduce her stuffed hands of all the wants and desires to a couple must haves. When in town, drop in & say hi. Definitely a unique shop with things you just won't find anywhere else.

So we are out shopping at what looks like a nice store....I ask the young man the cost of some shirts and he says $40 a piece and my wife blouses $69, but when we are ready to pay he charges $69 a piece for the men's and $99 for the ones my wife picks!! So what should cost $260, plus tax they we charging more than $360!! They then insincerily apologize that the guy is new and inaccurately void the sale , but as they put it in, twice, they mess up my card, which ends up blocking my credit card for the evening! I felt like if I hadn't been paying attention they were pulling a fast one. Buyer beware and check you bill before you leave... felt shady to me.

Holy cow! What a HUGE selection of Stop Staring! dresses. The sales associate said that becuase they buy so many of that one brand, they get one-off fabrics and special designs other shops don't. She was also so helpful in helping me to try on several, taking photos for me to send to a friend to help me choose the perfect one. She even gave me heels to wear so the dresses looked just right, which they don't is bare feet. When I got my dress home and laundered it, some of the designed washed out. I have another dress in the same fabric, different color, and this didn't happen. I called and they were happy to exchange. I sent it Priority Mail as I had returned home. Another associate called to make sure I got the dress I wanted as an exchange. Now I'm just waiting for the return to come. I will definitely be visiting Italy Direct or one of the sister stores when I'm back in NOLA!

Discovered the most beautiful gothic parasol in this boutique, and never would have forgiven myself if I had returned to NYC without it. (I used to own a similar one, but it was stolen a few years ago. Have not been able to find an appropriate replacement until now.) A bit expensive at $65, but you can't put a price tag on happiness - am I right? The rest of the store specializes in classic/retro/pin-up style dresses and quality Italian suits. Looking forward to ordering from their online catalogue for future purchases!

First of all, the people that work there are very nice. I chatted with them and they were totally awesome. Some of the clothes were nice, but way too rich for my blood. However, they had some items on sale, like men's suits for $100! Problem is, I'm a girl.

I returned here after buying a shirt 2 years ago only to be told that the shirt I was looking for is for tourists and that they didn't stock my size because they did not receive new short sleeve shirts for the last 3 years. She then went on to berate me about the difference between locals and tourists and fashion thereof. So rude!

Exemplary personal service here. They have a fantastic range of high quality USA made reproduction vintage dresses bit 2/3 of the store is given over to a very large range of Italian made men's shirts & jackets. Dresses are all $200 so on the pricier side but worth it. Highly recommend

Great customer service! Kenny was super helpful and knowledgeable. I bought a nice suit and jacket here a week ago. The pricing was fair also.

Typical scam shop in the French. Quarter had me try on shirts and then sold me on a shirt and told me I couldn't take it out the package to try it on. I tried on long sleeve shirts. I get home and open up the package and realized that I purchased a short sleeve shirt. Of course if I pay cash, I can't get a receipt. Stay away most of the clothes are trash in there. They have dust over most of the clothes.

Italy Direct is one of our favorite shops in New Orleans. Lou and Brandon are always so helpful and friendly, never pushy, and their merchandise is top quality. For us, no trip to New Orleans is complete without checking in at least once, and usually more, with Lou and his staff. They also have a sister store, Vita, nearby and are great about having someone quickly bring over different sizes from the other shop. Highly recommend!
