Truly wonderful experience at Irene's. Kelly was our server, and she was fantastic! Extremely attentive and seemed very excited about the menu. I ordered the filet (which was on special), which was pretty under. I had to send it back. She handled that great and the steak was perfect upon return! We also had the mussels as an appetizer, which were so tasty (would ask for extra crostini). My partner got the lamb chops which were so flavorful and delicious. Drinks were also top notch As for the vibe, it is so stinking nice and cute in there. A bit dark and romantic, with lots of charm of Italy. Ultimately an amazing dining experience. Highly recommend.

Irene's should be on your list of 'musts' when visiting New Orleans. We had a fantastic dinner here last night. The service/food/ambience are all top notch. The Meunière Almandine was outstanding. The fish had to have been caught the day it was served. We had a flourless chocolate torte for dessert that was out of this world. Our waiter; A.J., was friendly and attentive. A very professional server. I definitely recommend Irene's. Dress smart.

Such a beautiful, intimate spot in French Quarter that's a perfect date or special occasion spot. The host greets you immediately and quickly whisks you to your table. The service is top notch - attentive, friendly, and efficient. The waitstaff are pros - they cater to your needs to make the evening special. They don't rush you through the courses even if it's a busy night. We ordered three courses and the food came in prefect order, temp and taste.

Date of visit: December 20, 2024Definitely the best meal we had in NOLA, and we ate at a lot of fabulous places. You hear plenty about restaurants such as Commander's Palace, but there are plenty of places that are just as good--if not better--and Irene's should be on the top of that list.We didn't need as much time to check out Bourbon Street as I thought we would, so we ended up at the restaurant early. I did not think we could get in, but checked anyway. The host (whose gorgeousness was equaled by his friendly and helpful demeanor) indicated that they were running right on schedule and to come back at our reservation time. We did and I added truthful to his list of attributes! The decor is giving very old school ristorante italiano; my friend was sure this place is or was "mobbed up." Regardless, I loved how charming it was, from the cute vestibule area to the coziness of the dining room, even featuring a semi-private room off to the side.Hunter took amazing care of us! From the fabulous bruschetta to his recommendations for those of us that were undecided, we wanted for nothing the entire meal. Speaking of the meal, none of us went away hungry. I tried both the Italian Wedding soup and the Soup of the Day and both were fantastic. My Duck St. Philip truly could apply for sainthood, it was that good!

We finally got a table at the newer location for Irene's. It has been 7 years since we have eaten there. I was shocked to learn they'd been in the new spot that long. It was always great when it was on the Esplanade side of the quarter and it still is good. I was a little disappointed in the service. It wasn't busy in there but we seemed to wait for drinks, wine and food. I had the last Osso Bucco and it was delish. Wife had mussels and they were just average. We both had the wedding soup (it's was plenty cold in there) and it had a fantastic broth and I liked the tiny meatballs. We will be back but may e when it warms up.

We had a soft shell crab in brown butter that was amaze balls as my wife would say. I don't even really like soft shell crab but this one may have converted me. Plus they have traditional Italian fare and lots of daily specials. A definite must go in the French Quarter.

Intimate dining experience surrounding by couples - missing my dear Lisa E., who recommended Irene's based on Yelp reviews. Service par excellence. Well made Sazerac. Tonight's special beet salad, goat cheese purée, arugula perfectly dressed. Duck was crispy, moist and rich, paired well with the recommended Montepulciano.Sipping the remainder if my Sazerac, content and too full for dessert. On to a nearby Jazz hall!

Everything about Irene's is fabulous. Such a hidden gem in NOLA. Best little date night spot, delicious food and the service is impeccable. Everyone makes you feel right at home. The duck is the best thing on the menu hands down. Absolutely heavenly. My husband described it as "stunning", a word he's never used to describe food. I highly recommend any time you may come to New Orleans.
