We stayed at this International House Hotel during MLK weekend ; right before the freeze. Our room was not ready yet however, we were greeted well. We got a upgrade also! Now, Chris, at the front desk.. We met him while checking out. Chris offered to call a taxi for us, recommended food spots, talked to us about New Orleans. He is knowledgable! I am looking forward tp stay here again and also to be welcomeness by Chris.

I booked a double bed room for 3 ppl and they said the computer doesn't go back far enough to my booking date. I ended up with people sleeping the floor. I got 1 bed. They didn't book it properly and they told the company I booked thru that sometimes ppl cancel so they made an assumption that I would be ok with 1 bed. That was embarrassing for me because I planned the trip. They don't have spare roll outs either. I got 1 extra blanket and some extra towels. The hotel was nice the staff was nice and did what they could by giving me a double bed the next day. If you're a couple it's fine if you need 2 beds you safe bed is 2 rooms.

Do you like having your concert and excursion experiences ruined? Well then this is the right hotel for you!We were originally assigned to room 911 but the room key stopped working after one night. We were made to sit lamely around before ultimately being told we needed to switch rooms. However, this timing could not have been worse. Being locked out of our room caused us to be late to the Taylor Swift concert we came to town for. You know, the entire point of our trip. Then, upon our return at midnight, after a 3.5 hour concert, we were made to switch rooms rather than allowed to rest and switch later in the morning. This ruined the following day for us as we had excursions booked for early in the morning. In fact, the residual exhaustion from this ordeal trickled into the rest of our trip and mired the experience for us entirely. One of us caught a cold from this residual exhaustion. Additionally, we were put in a room NEXT TO THE DUMPSTER so we were woken up at 5 AM EACH DAY by garbage trucks. At one point, we had a paranormal encounter with a ghost in an elevator. We experienced a sudden chilling sensation in our bones and then the exact floor number we needed lit up even though we did not touch any buttons at all. This hotel is a mess. It advertises itself as a luxury hotel and completely catfished us because our room was a depressing broom closet. Suffice to say, we will never be returning nor recommending this hotel.

International House Hotel is a boutique hotel, that is located in a great location to all the attractions. The lobby is very comfortable and the decor is beautiful. There's a lounge area with a bar that is amazing. There is a (popular) sushi restaurant that is attached to the hotel. As for the rooms, I feel they could be updated to a more fancier style. But in all, the rooms were still neat, roomy, and clean. We did have an issue with the a/c, but the problem was addressed in a timely manner.

I was in town for a wedding, and was looking for a hotel that had a traditional New Orleans feel to it as opposed to a chain, and International House Hotel definitely delivered! It is centrally located in a very walkable area, and a lot of attractions (and beignets) are within walking distance. When we first arrived, I was impressed by the outside, the lobby, and the bar. Everything looked very upscale, especially for the inexpensive price. The decor was beautiful, and there was an unexpected Banksy exhibit which was really cool.We happened to arrive on a voodoo holiday, and there was a shrine set up in the lobby and an event happening that night. I wasn't able to attend, but it was really cool to see that bit of New Orleans' unique culture.I took off a star because the a/c wasn't working in our room, which I've seen in other reviews. The staff were nice and moved us for our second night, but the first night was pretty warm. The room itself was nice, though!Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. It's such high quality for what you're paying.

My requests were always met expeditiously. They upgraded my room upon my arrival because the A/C was broken. I loved the room, but there were no hangers in the closet. The shower handle was a bit weird and the water wasn't as hot as I like. The heating was hard to get going. It was actually blowing cold air and made the room colder, which was visible in the declining temperature on the thermostat. I was pretty cold most of the trip and I just ended up turning off the thermostat. The hotel bar was nice with great bartenders. The drinks are a little pricey. The hotel is artsy and beautiful, yet playful with Mardi Gras. I wish they had food or room service. I would totally stay here again. They had free coffee and water!

International House Hotel is a boutique hotel located in the Central Business District in New Orleans. It is walking distance from some shops and eateries and we were able to walk to the famous Bourbon Street & to the French Quarters, etc. It came highly recommended by a loved one, and therefore, I booked it immediately. We definitely enjoyed our stay for a couple of days at International House Hotel. So much so that it is receiving a 4.5 out of 5 stars. International House Hotel is gorgeous and provides cozy, chic, elegant ambiance w/ an overall elegant vibe. Beautiful hotel lobby w/ cool lighting & decor, dope artwork, pretty plants, etc. The Banksy Art Exhibit in the lobby is interesting to view . Who knew that Banksy visited in 2008?...Thus, this artwork is at the hotel for patrons to view & enjoy. Loa Bar is also in the lobby area, and hotel guests are provided w/ two "welcome" cocktails of their choice during their stay. We each had a complimentary cup of Rose'. Loa Bar Hours of Operation -Sun. - Thurs. - 5pm-10pmFri. & Sat. - 4pm-11pmOur room included decor, an updated / modern bathroom w/ a marvelous shower/shower head, fantastic water pressure & good, consistently hot water. The beds were oh-so comfortable...A great night's sleep was had throughout the three-night hotel stay. Clean bathrooms, a nice-sized gym/exercise facility, meeting rooms, good-looking & well-running elevators, etc. are all here at International House Hotel. Thank you to Eric and Chris for their wonderful hospitality, their professionalism, friendliness, their courtesy, and kindness. Check-in and Check-Out occurred w/ ease & they both provided lots of valuable information throughout our stay, etc. I am definitely going to book another stay at International House Hotel when I go back to visit New Orleans. Website - www.ihhotel.comInstagram - @InternationalhousehotelInternational House Hotel also has a Facebook & Twitter page. Sign up via their website w/ your email to receive updated information on special hotel offers, events, etc. IOh, I forgot to mention that Kelly Cutrone was at the hotel for an event . I looked at her and knew that she looked familiar but I could not place her face. She said, "America's Next Top Model"... then I remembered that she was on that show. Yes, I definitely will not forget that moment -lol.

This hotel saved our vacation! The overall vibe is immaculate. The staff was amazing to work with, and the room was so nice. There's a bar, a sushi restaurant in house - and of course complimentary coffee in the morning. The location could not have been better. We were able to walk, or take a quick Uber everywhere.

I would have given this modest, convenient, low frills hotel near the French Quarter a more positive review were it not for the 10% "amenities fee" (FYI: there were NO AMENITIES) of $49.50 per guest tacked on at checkout. These fees were not covered by the advance payment to Expedia. This is nothing but gouging for additional profit. BUYER BEWARE.
