This is your typical dive bar, suitable for a movie set about the underclass. We vacationed in an apartment half a block away and people were around the bar at all times, until closing, about midnight. One day, at 1:30 ion the afternoon, I went in to check it out. Very dark, with a pool tabnle in the back and gambling slots and neon beer signs. The bartenders dressed in the same dirty clothes as the guests, who all seemed to be heavy drinkers who were lonely and wanted someone to talk to. Not an unfriendly place, but certainly not ideal for a date night. Drinks were not expensive and strong. Just what the clientel wished for.

My brother and I came to NO for vacation and this place was down the street from where we were staying. We loved this place!!! If you're looking for stuffy, snobby people with fancy drinks than this is not your place. This is a friendly, cheap bar with awesome people that welcome everyone that walks through the door. We actually stopped in 3 times while we were there!!!! Loved it!!

This is absolutely a no frills neighborhood bar that caters to locals. They have a pool table, dart board and video poker.Once or twice a month they have a live band. Open 24 hours for your drinking pleasure.

Great basic neighborhood bar where you see a cross section of the city. What's not to love about a heavy pour & cheap drinks type of bar? Well...there's the cigarette smoke when too many smokers congregate in the low ceilinged establishment at once. And, of course, there is the difficulty on a crowded night of squeezing by to get to the restroom when wearing a cape. OK so maybe you won't be wearing a cape and that won't be a problem for you.Solid choice.

This is a divey little neighborhood bar, but it hosts a good crowd. On the night that we were here a few streets in the area were without power, so there were a good number of people enjoying the ac and having a few drinks. The drinks are cheap and thankfully there is a smoking ban in place, so I was able to enjoy my cocktails without worrying about reeking of cigarettes. The bartender was a real character, had a lot of personality and loved to chat. I want to go back and play some tunes on the jukebox- there was a line when I was here and I am anxious to see the kind of music selection they have.

Incredible hole in the wall bar. Nothing fancy, just a classic 24 hour bar off the beaten path. Strong, cheap drinks, nice people. Can't beat that.

What a place. Iggy's is a great, lively, friendly, sometimes wild, classic old-school neighborhood bar in New Orleans' Marigny district. Such great bartenders, ambiance, and interesting patrons. We loved finding it and will return! Iggy's is a New Orleans gem.

I have never been so rudely treated in a bar as I was by the bartender in Iggy's tonight. I understand that everyone can have a bad moment, but she was relentless in making me feel like shit. I came in in a fine mood, and was nothing but polite, but she froze me out completely, giving me zero eye contact. I tried to warm her up and lighten the mood, but to no avail. She was so floridly disrespectful of me and my wife that we left after one drink. I I understand dive bar culture. I don't expect white-glove service. But I also understand the difference between acknowledging another's humanity and being a total asshole. Do not go here.
