What a wonderful find on Royal Street. The handmade toys were the perfect gift ideas for our little besties. There are choices for toddlers, young kids and adults alike. I wanted to play with everything in the shop.

Amazing wood works. Small wooden musical instruments. A good amount of wooden kids toys. Kitchen utensils. Great unique gift place.

I love this shop! Walking in, you immediately discover that Idea Factory is going to bring you back to simpler times. The times before modern technology when toys were built to last.Everything here is hand made out of wood, and it's a sight to behold. Tops, puzzles, train whistles, secret boxes and much more are on display and available for purchase for the kid (or big kid) in your life. They have a fantastic selection of unique gifts that are sure to capture the imagination. The staff is very friendly and is more than happy to explain how everything works and you are sure to find something that you'll enjoy. I want to go back and buy one of the slide boxes to keep my rings in, so I'm sure I'll be making a trip back to this delightful spot.

I stumbled upon Idea Factory while walking around the French Quarter. As others have mentioned, it is close to Cafe Amelie. I loved all the wooden items and the PO boxes. Wish I could have been able to afford one of the PO boxes as I have only seen those at one other place, years ago, but they are quite expensive. I left with a wooden christmas ornament to remember my time in NOLA.

I happened upon this store while waiting to have brunch at Café Amelie nearby (go there too). It looked so amazing so I came back a few days later and spent a long time talking to the owner (David, I think) about puzzle boxes and PO boxes and all kinds of stuff. He is super knowledgeable and helpful and the store is just full of fascinating stuff. I ended up buying one and it's beautiful. I really want to go back and get 5 more. This would be a great place to a buy a unique gift for someone (or yourself). I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in New Orleans.

3.5/5 woodwork wonders. this is your imagination's store. all wood in various shades, the analog world in its clickety-clackety cheer. there are things from little cars to instruments to pieces with working movement. if you're on this side of royal, it's a definite easy and fun stop to poke into and play.

Great locally owned business, very unique handmade gifts. Some great vintage books as well. We had a lovely chat with the owner, who took over the business a few years ago. In a town with a lot of tourist traps, this stands out as a genuine locally owned business with great stuff. Will return.

Wow, what a cool place! I stumbled across this store while exploring the French Quarter and loved it! The toys are all wooden puzzles that are so beautifully crafted and just super cool. I loved the different puzzle boxes, and could have spent a LOT more time just looking at everything. As a student, it's a bit pricey, but once I have a salary, I'll definitely be back!

Awesome pieces of art that play with your mind. Toys that make you think, and help children to progress with cognitive development. If you have time to stop and play, well recommended. They make great gifts or a little desk trinket for yourself.

This shop has the best wooden 3D puzzles I have EVER found. A must gift to give to someone you love! sure there are wooden puzzles....in 2D, some cheap 3D from China...junk. But the 3D wooden puzzles found here are the best you can find.
