Sadly this place has gone down hill ! I used to recommend this establishment, clean , good food and good staff. Now I'm sure they will blame it on Covid but they just plain suck! Horrible choices and funny ones too.... Like a full hotel pan full of lemon slices!! One beef dish, old old seafood that is all over cooked and tasteless!DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, a party of 4 adults cost over 70 dollars... maybe after the pandemic they will get better?? Not possible

Let's face it when you've been to one Chinese Buffet you've been to then all right! Not so fast, this one has fried Crabs. Yes fried crabs. Lord have mercy those are so good. When I go back I'll probably eat just the fried crabs. There was all the usual favorites you would expect at the Buffet and some not so usual items. Raw Oysters, boiled Crayfish, boiled Shrimp, fried Fish, baked Fish as well as Sushi. Salads galore as well as fresh fruit. But did I mention the fried Crabs. I'm going back and when I do I hope I'm not going to be sorry that I wrote this review because they are sold out. Fried Crabs!

It's your typical Chinese buffet. I am a crawfish lover so that's the main reason I go; to get them in the off season. They have good flavor and are juicy. Can't beat $15 for all you can eat crawfish!

*Sung to the tune of They Might Be Giants "Hot Cha"..."Hot Wok, where are you?Everybody's eyes are closedI can't see why I miss you soSo hot Wok, where are you?"This is the little song I sing whenever I need to stuff my face so full of seafood that it comes out my ears. (Once every 2 months as it turns out.)3 Stars Yelp? YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG! I mean... just check out that disco skate ceiling! Soak it up! The secret here is to just treat this place like a seafood buffet and ignore everything else! Fish, shrimp, oysters, crab! BOOM SHAKA LAKA! The hilarious thing about the people complaining about this place is that it's exactly what you make of it. I mean... there's a Mongolian Wok Chef in the back who will stir fry whatever ingredients you want into the dish of your choice! If you hate that... grab a mirror and blame yourself! Pro Tips: Don't eat breakfast and come for Lunch, and stay true to your tastebuds. Dive deep and with your whole heart, stay hydrated and stretch your legs to make more room! Good luck and stay away from anything covered in crusty mayo.

Went here after a trip to the Battle of New Orleans site. We were all tired of eating seafood the first day of our vacation, so we went here as a little bit of a break from that. As far this place goes, it's what you would expect from a Chinese-American buffet. They have rice, noodles, sushi, soup, stir fried dishes, a deep fried section, salad, dessert, fruit, etc. The taste on everything was decent, although some things like the fish filet and egg rolls were a bit cold and not very fresh. We came here for lunch, so I don't know if they were out of crawfish, oysters, etc. or if those are only for dinner. That being said, the waitress was very kind and had a long conversation with my mother. It was a pretty good deal as well. For lunch, it's around $45 for four people. Overall, I'd recommend this place for a quick bite for lunch, and maybe for special occasions for dinner.

I STRONGLY caution you against using this restaurant. Chalmette does not have a lot to offer in terms of food that is not processed or fresh food that you can enjoy without making poor choices. Hot Wok offers dishes that offer fruit and veggies, BUT... they are NOT SANITARY. I recently purchased a to go meal that incorporated their vegetables and included the SPINACH CASSEROLE. I became very ill and experienced VIOLENT VOMITTING that was later diagnosed as CROSS CONTAMINATION by the ER. I have never been so sick before and it has cost me more than the overpriced meal. The SPINACH dish was compromised and I felt it necessary to warn others about this place. DO NOT EAT HERE... just grab a BURGER. The consumer DESERVES quality for their food choices; not COLITIS. Beware!PS: You have to rate at least one star.... I would not offer any stars if I didn't have to arbitrarily.

The food was horrible. Frozen dinners have more flavor than anything on their buffet. No interaction from server other than her refilling our drinks. The place has the ambiance of the city morgue. Do not recommend to anyone. Save your money, very overpriced. Just nasty!
