The Hopedale Marina is a fantastic spot for Louisiana fishing and Louisiana wildlife. There are plenty of alligators, pelicans, seagulls, dock cats, catfish, sheepshead fish, redfish, blue crab, shrimp and stingray. This is a great spot for exploring the Louisiana wetlands and seeing the the beauty of the bayou along with great fishing. My video review is here:https://youtu.be/AsBu24TH7Bs

Great marina. Clean store, friendly staff, and overall professional operation. I don't get down that way often, but I'll be back next time I'm in the area.

Hopedale Marina (formerly Breton Sound Marina) in Hopedale (is there really an "in" Hopedale?) is a full-service stop for fishermen and duck hunters needing ice, food, fuel, boat launch, live or dead bait, vehicle storage... pretty much everything you'd imagine would be offered by a marina located at the end of the Earth.Just kidding. The end of the Earth is another two and a half hours south of Hopedale, by car, but you can get there quicker if you launch from Hopedale Marina. The Marina is set alongside Bayou La Loutre, an earlier course of the Mississippi River, and, following the bayou across the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet (MRGO), fishermen easily reach Stump Lagoon, Muscle Bay and other hot spots in the Biloxi Wildlife Management Area.A note about MRGO: the artificial waterway was always an environmental and financial failure, and thankfully, was "de-authorized" and dammed in 2009 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. But access to the southeast side of the channel from Hopedale is missed, as it provided quick and easy access for boaters headed into Lake Athanasio, Eloi or Black Bays, and of course, Breton Sound. The boat ride to get outside is a bitch, and these days, we're just as likely to fish Lake Jean Louis Robin, Lake Coquille or Grand Pass.A final note: don't try to launch on Opening Day of duck season if you're not hunting ducks. My buddy Keith and I fished out of a private camp near the Marina one November, without having checked the calendar, and we found the pre-dawn road to Hopedale choked with boat-towing pickups, each full of heavily armed men who'd been awake for hours and who were anxious to shoot stuff. Better to wait a day or two.Hopedale Marina: https://www.facebook.com/hopedalemarina/

Pat and the crew have a great operation. He's helpful and cares about his customers. I've fished this marina many times and they have always provided a great experience.Today he helped us with navigation down the spoil canal and helped us find more fish. Prices are reasonable, bathrooms available and has always had bait.5 Stars ! Thank you Pat!
