A true hidden gem. I never think to go here on my own, but when a friend suggests it, I jump at the chance. Chill vibe, clientele and staff. A great place to watch a game or just hang out and chat. Just a really unassuming place that I plan to frequent more often.

Perfect. That's the way to describe this bar. The last night I walked in Bob Seger's "Night Move" was playing and I knew I was where I needed to be. You come in here, have a drink, and talk to folks. Be a person. No networking LinkedIn bullshit. It's just comfortable with a great tap. They always have Highife or craft beers life Wiseacre on draft.

Homedale Inn is an old school dive bar. After reading Shannon and Harry's reviews I bookmarked this bar. While it took me almost a year to finally visit, I am glad I did. This doesn't seem like the kind of place one would normally find in this area. The Bulldog and Parlay's are close by, but I never could get into the atmosphere of those places. Homedale Inn is much more relaxed and less pretentious. In fact, it is all around better than the other bars nearby. My crew and I came by one night and despite the fact that none of us had ever been there, we were all greeted as regulars. The real regulars were surprisingly accepting of our somewhat rowdy group. The beer selection was decent, and prices were in line with most other dive bars.If I find myself in Lakeview, this is the bar I will most likely end up visiting.

WOW I can't believe no one has ever reviewed the Homedale Inn! Well I used to live right down the street and this was one of our favorite neighborhood spots when we didn't feel like venturing out much. This place has been around forever! (since 1937 to be exact). I am not a beer person but they carry lots of beers. Each night of the week they host different events (darts, open mic, comedy, trivia and the famous New Orleans classic "steak night"). It's a perfectly respectable neighborhood joint bar for you to hang out at.

What an interesting bar. Total locals dive, tucked into the Navarre neighborhood (often confused for Lakeview). It's the kind of place that everyone knows everyone's name, but none of them recognize faces because it's so dark and likely everyone's so drunk! They have some high tables and the bar, dart board and some tiny TV's. They give away free crockpot food occasionally and they do a mean trivia night. There's an awesome juke box inside too. The beers are cheap and mostly everyone sits outside and smokes and uses the inside to grab their drinks. Plenty of street parking!

The oldest bar in Lakeview/Navarre, this place embodies New Orleans. Everyone here is welcoming and friendly. A true local dive, many of the people here are regulars, including myself. Great place to watch the Saints games as they have multiple TVs and speakers. There is an outside seating area with TVs as well. They also do karaoke once a month, and trivia night is every Wednesday (many people agree it's one of the best in town). Keep up with their Facebook, they post regularly about what's going on that week. If you come often, the bartenders are great about remembering your order, but are happy to oblige if you're feeling something different. The only day they are closed is Mardi Gras Day. Don't forget to say hi to the bar cat, Siren, and give her some love. If you really want to feel like a Nola native, this is the bar to go to!

Awesome local bar with good peeps. We were there for a Krewe party at Christmas. Owners and bartenders kind and helpful, and the regular crowd was hospitable. If in the area and in need of a neighborhood bar with cold beer, I'd hit up the Homedale Inn again for sure. No question.

Fun dive bar in the Navarre/Lakeview neighborhood!Homedale Inn was established in 1937, making it the oldest bar in all of Lakeview. Frequented by locals from the surrounding neighborhood, you will pass your time here taking advantage of the great drink prices and free food during all Saints and LSU games. The bartenders here are very nice and are quick to make suggestions if you're not sure what you want. Check the chalk board inside to see the changing events calendar, as they constantly have themed parties and hold weekly trivia too. They also have video poker and darts as well as an outdoor deck for smokers.
