Hilton Whale Wall Lot

Parking lot is as large as the mural. Reasonable rates. Pretty amazing that you get your ticket when you drive in and do not have to try to guess at how much time you will be spending visiting wherever you are going. Pay when you leave.

We ran into this Humongous Whale Wall that covered the entire side of the building as we were leaving the Riverwalk

This mural is awesomely massive. It is is 251 feet long and 66 feet high and was originally dedicated in 1997. It was painted by Internationally renowned marine life artist Wyland. In 2019 Wyland, with the assistance of some volunteers refreshed the painting, adding some details to the life-sized blue whale, in addition to adding a clear, protective coating to the top of the mural. At the completion of the renovation they rededicated the muralThis mural is located on the side of the Hilton parking garage and overlooks a paid parking lot. It takes up the entire wall and is eye catching. It is becoming a signature piece and a symbol of the city. The mural is very realistic and depicts a life like blue whale with a manatee, a sea turtle, killer whale, and other sea life under the deep blue sea. I really like this mural and Wyland does some great work. This is a mural that you must see. It had a cameo in a few movies too.There is metered street parking nearby and it is located in a paid lot, so, if it is that important to you that you want to park, get out a take a closer look, you have options. You could also get a good look from the windshield of your car doing a slow rolling drive by. More than likely though, you will come across this mural on your way to at larger and more time consuming attraction such as the nearby CityWalk Market Place or Convention CenterAnyway, as with most murals I have reviewed, this is probably not a very long stop. I was there less than 5 minutes. You may want to consider planning out additional stops at many of the other wonderful attractions in the area to maximize your time and trip.
