We are actually Ocean Canyon members and this is our first time coming to this campground...trust me, we won't be back...and would like to leave early, but afraid we may be charged for night(s) we don't stay. I feel like I'm in a trailer park instead of an RV park, where people live on a full-time basis. There are very few sites with trees...and the few that do have trees are taken by the campers that look like they live here full time. We were really hoping this would be a great place to bring our grandchildren to fish and play, but the campsites are small and right on top of each other, and the so-called ponds are definitely "hidden"...and are more like big ditches. I will probably be spending the majority of my time inside the camper working this trip...not much beauty or nature outside to go out in the heat for. We have learned our lesson about going to campgrounds that don't have a lot of pictures...we now know for sure there's a reason why there aren't many...you might see the REAL picture!!!

If your looking for a private getaway where just paid vacation holders can get in this is your spot. It's pretty awesome. Equipped with an outdoor saltwater pool with a slide, a kiddo pool, paddle boats, an indoor pool w jacuzzi, a huge recreation hall to hold events inside, has a pool table, foshball table, they also host bingo and family game night, it's equipped with travel trailer lots and cabins. It's really nice and fun and family oriented. Me an the kids really enjoy coming here because of the down home atmosphere this place puts out. We came here for the Fourth of July and had a blast, they had pool side DJ's all day, they cooked some good food to feed the guest. Each time we come and use our vacation points they also give you free nights at other affiliated resorts which is cool if you want to save your points and take trips to other places. Definitely going back cause it's always as blast.

Do not go here the sales manger is very rude and obnoxious. He did not take the time to explain anything to me. When I asked him to give an explanation on what the membership includes he said that he was too busy to talk on the phone and did not have the time for my questions. I never write reviews but I found this one to be extremely necessary. DO NOT spend your money with these people there are plenty other camp grounds that are much more welcoming. Btw I have to give them a star to post this review but I would give them none.

I had a first time camping experience at Hideaway Ponds in Gibson LA. My daughter has a membership with this campground and had rented me a trailer for $90 a night. We stayed on July 8 and 9,2016. When I arrived at 1:40p.m. on the 8th, I went to the office to pay for the rental and I asked the young girl behind the counter if I could get the key. She rudely said no that check in was at 2. So o.k. rules have to be followed so we went tour the campground while killing 20 whole minutes of time. I went at 2 and she gave me the key. She never said anything to me not a thank you or enjoy your stay. Very rude young girl that should not be working in a place with so many people. Next was when we entered the trailer the ac filters were filty so my friend and I cleaned both of them. That night after we showered we put on socks to sleep and walking on the floor was like walking in dirt. Our socks were black as charcoal. The futon was filty also. Someone had clipped their toe nails or finger nails and when opened it to sleep that night there they were. We had to clean it before putting our linen on it. So we never complained and just did what we had to do to make it better for us to enjoy. On the 10th we had to check out by 2p.m. so we packed our things early and did our cleaning as said on the note on their wall. We cleaned it better than we had taken it but when I returned the key at 11am Ms.Sally said for me to wait that she needed to check it to make sure it was cleaned or they would charge a 40.00 fee. So we waited and when I went in the office to see if everything was o.k. the snobby girl who had checked me in gave me a stick note to go back and clean. They had that the futon was dirty which we cleaned on the first night we were there and before we turned in our key. The fridge had to be wipe which we done twice before. The tub had stains to be removed that we never saw a stain. I made my daughter come into the trailer when I went back to reclean what the note had and she did not see anything wrong. The unfriendly girl who gave me the note coped an attitude with me when I told her we had to clean it the night we got in, She said she didn't think so cause Ms.Sally was very thorough when she checked the trailers and cottages. I don't think I will ever camp there again. There are a lot of other camgrounds I can go to cause I will not waste my money on this place. Staff needs some much more polite people. And as far as the cleanlness she should pay someone to clean because whoever cleaned that trailer must be a hogest person.
