More people should be reviewing Terri Malone. To say that my experience was transformational is an understatement. Curly girls....let's talk. You know who you are. You've spent your entire life fighting your curls...relaxing, frizzing, destroying your hair and letting bad hair ruin most of your otherwise joyful moments. You've looked at women with those utterly gorgeous curls, and wondered why it's just you who seems to have the bad hair. No more. Terri not only cut and styled my hair, but she introduced me to, and taught me completely different ways to handle my hair. Turns out, it wasn't my awful hair, it was my awful habits because I didn't understand my hair.. Now my curls are springy, fun and free, and stay that way for days with only minimal maintenance...not a frizzy, fuzzy, godawfully shaped mess like I've suffered with my whole life. Thank You Terri :)Plus - she's a doll - absolutely lovely and fun to be around. She said that figuring out your curls can make you happier as a person. She's right How can you not be happy when you look this cute? The entire consultation, cut, and every single product in the line (because let's face it, I had to have them all) ran about $200 and change - Geez - I've paid way more than that just for hair products and they've all been a bust. Also, it was me who asked for all the products. She was perfectly ok with me trying the same one's I had been using, with the new method - didn't even suggest, much less push products on me - but do yourself a favor, get the whole shebang. It will change your life, I promise. The best approach and experience for curly haired girls - period Ever. I mean...Ever. So happy.

This was like magic land for me. I walked in feeling frumpy and walked feeling fresh and put together. Terri and her staff are a wealth of information for curly girls. I learned a lot. And since it's my birthday, I got to sport a tiara on my new do tonight. I also love that no one pressured me to buy products. They told me to go home and try to recreate the look with my own products and come back to buy whatever I need.

I was visiting from out of town and since we don't have any deva curl stylists back home I decided to look while on vacation. I was squeezed in to an early appointment and have never been so thankful to a stylist in my life. In my 27years I have never loved my hair as much as I do after this haircut and style information. I have never received so many compliments. I can whole heartedly say this cut changed my life. Thank you so much!

Hairwear does all the things a typical hair salon will do...haircuts, coloring, blowouts, styling and more. Although, I'm sure they do those things wonderfully for whatever you're looking for, whatever your hair type...I'm writing this review for what other salons can NOT do! If you're a curly girl...whatever your curl type...THIS is where you should be getting your hair cut & styled. Terri Malone, a fellow curly...in fact aptly self-named Crescent City Curly Girl (I'm a little jealous because I would like this title myself but I only do MY curls! LOL) is amazing! She has decades of curl knowledge and experience and it shows. She's Deva certified so she uses the DevaCut (which is a dry cut designed to enhance your curls) and DevaCurl products, which is the line I use regularly & like. My hair is really long & I wanted to keep it long so she had to cut my hair as I stood up and she is very informative along the way explaining why she wants to do certain things. Her assistant, Anastasia (another fellow curly), was great as well. She shampooed, or rather No-pooed, my hair & really got my scalp feeling clean & refreshed. After conditioning she proceeded to finger comb all my long locks all the while giving reasons why along with tips & tricks. Terri finished off my style incorporating a little trick from me, taught me little trick to add volume at the crown, and air diffused dried with a special dryer I wish I could have at home! She even sent me away with a little goody to help. Being a long time naturally curly, (my whole life) I know a lot about the curly world, but the beauty of our conversations along the way was the way it was exchange between all of us as if we were all long time CurlFriends. They got a little info from me & I got lots of info from them. I gained not only hair stylists but new pals. So whether you're new to embracing your curls or a long term member of the Cult of Curly, I highly recommend going to this guru! As long as I'm home in NOLA, I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Terri is awesome! She really takes the time to explain what she's doing and why, and she answers questions patiently and thoroughly. Her assistants are equally awesome. I've been going to Terri for almost 7 years and have never had a bad cut or color.

I am a fan of Hairwear. Perfect place in NOLA for curly hair women and girls. I love that they use the Deva Curl products. I had been a loyal fan of Ouidad for years but I have started using Deva Curl no*poo and conditioner.

As always, Terri gave me a great curly cut. Recently, she also put in beautiful highlights which really gave me an all around stylish look. I felt great leaving the salon with my new " hair". Terri loves her work and it shows.

I had my damaged, naturally curly hair cut and styled here about a month and a half ago. This is the best haircut I've ever had. I love my hair now and I've never felt that way before. I never knew what to do with it so it was frizzy and yuck. Now, I am proud to wear it curly every day, much easier, too. The longer I wear it this way, the better it looks.

Brought my daughter who "had" corkscrew curls past her shoulders for a deva cut. She was so excited because we thought she would have a nice shape to her hair once cut. Was I wrong!! She chopped the top layer of her hair about four inches shorter than the bottom layer of hair and now her hair looks like a mushroom with an afro on top! Her self esteem is so low now because curly hair takes so long to grow! Should not be represented as a deva curl salon at all!
