Habaneros 22

I've been coming to Habaneros for years and I hate saying this but the quality has plummeted. Portion sizes are pathetic and up charging for 2 of of steak. Margaritas are too expensive and all in all the food doesn't match the prices. The servers are great, but I feel bad for them!

I was in town visiting family and we decided on this place for lunch. We had a really great experience here. I have to say this place is a vibe; it honestly reminds me of the cool spots in Texas that I have back home. The aesthetics are beautiful. It's so colorful, eclectic and fun to look at. The menu has a great variety and I love all the taco varieties. It doesn't look like it belongs along Hwy 22 but I'm glad it's there. We ordered a few appetizers all being good. The corn was the table favorite along with the octopus tacos. Those were prepared so nicely. My mom got the prestige tacos and said they were great. I got the La Roka; it was pretty good; the chicken was a tad dry but everything else was great. My kids got a quesadilla kids meal and we love the grilled pineapple option as a side. Service was good, the food came out quickly and the presentation was really nice. Portion to pricing was fair on most things and a tad high on others, but overall fair. For this area though I can see it being high for some. All in all we had a great lunch here. I hope they get great business; one of the better places around town with a creative menu.

This place deserves nothing less than 4.7 on Yelp. I gave the 5. The menu was intriguing, the food tasted fantastic, and the decor was inventive. I felt like I was at a bougie café in Mexico City. REAL FOOD inspired from Mexico. This is not a Nicaraguan take on Mexican menu . Must visit to appreciate.

The margarita was good but the chicken quesadilla on the other hand was made with what tasted like canned chicken .

My alltime favorite Mexican food. Bean dip is amazing. Guacamole fresh. Food comes out fast and hot and all the servers are very attentive and quick.I've never had a bad meal!

The food was great. Service was great and the atmosphere was ok, music could have been tuned down one setting.

Completely overrated. I don't understand why this place is popular. I moved away and recently came back to the abomination of what Carretas has become. Asking around, Habaneros was recommended. 3 consistent strikes on 3 different occasions. It's so blah, that I wanted to write about it. Service is awesome. Can't speak well enough about each visit on service. Ambiance is cool. Food is completely bland, aside from charro beans, refried beans, and queso. Tacos sound fun when reading the menu. That's where it ends. They suck! I've tried Caribeños, Norteños, and Laguneros. I had to check to see if I had COVID because there was no flavor on any of them. For the price you pay, seriously don't bother. This place has sub-par flavor, and you're paying a ridiculous amount for their expense on ambiance. I've honestly been hit for $32, for a FREAKING margarita. My thought is, if people can afford to spend ~$40-50/person, why not go somewhere better?

Found this place while visiting the Northshore and very pleased with our decision to eat here. Loved the ambiance and vibe, the food was fresh and tasty, service was excellent with chips, salsa and refried beans served as soon as we sat down. Will definitely visit again when in area.

I could not wait to return. We had been there before and had a great experience. The service and food was not good. My husband and I both wonder if it had new management. It was that different. I told the waitress twice my food fajitas was tough. Both times she said I am sorry and walked away.I had to go get my own extra napkins and go ask for another drink.

No restaurant stands even close to habaneros food drinks and service! Best in the land!
