Gulf Coast Escape Room

This is a newly opened escape room on Magazine street. The rooms here have a difficulty rating as well as a scary rating. If you like scary, this is the place for you. The particular room I chose was 9/10 difficulty with 2/10 scare factor. I'd like to not be frightened while trying to think. LolThis escape room seems to lack some of the polish that the other area escape rooms have. Getting hints involves calling your game master on a walkie talkie and then physically coming to your room and looking it over and helping wherever you're stuck. There's no cryptic hints like at other venues. There's no welcome video explaining the rules of the game. There's no intro video once you're inside staging the scene. There's no real setting the mood happening, which is a bummer. The atmosphere is part of the fun. This felt kinda blah. It was rated a 9 difficulty but it's probably more of a 6. There was a large white board which was nice. Those small boards are almost useless. I'm hoping that these are just part of being a new location and will improve with time.

This is a great homespun escape experience. The puzzles overall are very good and the thematics are very solid. The out-of-room wrapper makes it all feel charming and cohesive. We've been back multiple times, 10/10 recommend.

The staff is so friendly! It's a small establishment but the games are so fun! We did the "easiest" one and it was still a fun kind of challenging! Definitely recommend!

Cameron (our room keeper) was great!! We did the Doll Room & he helped us when we got stuck and wanted hints lol. Super fun and probably coming back!

i had never heard of the place but it was recommended to me by my brother, i loved it! the place is small but they have 3 rooms open with different themes. I did the doll attic room, it was very well decorated and those dolls are actually creepy as hell. i really wanna go back and try the other ones. Cameron was working and he was so friendly
