I love a good small local museum, and this one fits the bill. The lady working was cleaning up from an event the night before but was more than happy to stop and give a tour. There are three creole cottages on the property to tour, the blacksmith shop and the fire museum and took just over an hour. Evidently, they do hold events here and the cemetery down the street named the Hook and Ladder Cemetery was originally for the firefighters but has opened up to everyone. The history given here is very detailed and there are pictures and artifacts from the time period the homes were built, and other donations that do not quite fit, but they have found use for. Admission was free, but they do accept donations. Everything was just lovely. I recommend anyone coming for a tour.
