Overpriced eye candy! I am unsure of the history of this brand, but there are only 2 locations in all of the US, and both are in the suburb of Metairie. They do have quite a selection of home goods, furniture and decorations, but all of it is quite over priced in my opinion. There is a large shared parking lot, and the store is in the middle of a strip mall.Walking in, you are not greeted. The aisles are wide, with plenty of room to move around. In the back is an area where you can have someone frame a photo or artwork. They do have some kitsch, and they have a large selection of my favorite laundry additive, so I do have a place close to come for that. They have a large selection for crafting items of all types, and a selection of clearance items that are the better part of 2 aisles. They do not have much of a selection of local crafts, which is something I would like to see locally owned stores having, so that is disappointing. Most of the items are mass produced. It's nice to look at, but there are better values to be made elsewhere, even at the national chain stores.

I stopped into Gordon's for plain old votive candles. I left with votive candles, a yard flag, and a 1/2 price Halloween plaque. That's always the story when I make a visit to this large, sort of overwhelming establishment. If you do a lot of seasonal decorating and are in the immediate area, it's worth a trip. Their prices are fair and they have a large selection.I find the store a little messy and hard to navigate, but it's geographically desirable for me.

I always enjoy going to Gordon's of Metairie. It is beautifully decorated for the holidays. Their Christmas decorations are so enticing that although I bought something today, I know I will go back to buy something I saw... in the next few days. I recommend Gordon's y'all! It is a beautiful store and it's a locally owned one! Let's help our own at this difficult time. You won't regret it!Oh and they also have a large variety of masks! Stay safe! Wear a mask and wash your hands!

Stopped here after breakfast last week and it seems to be a better laid-out version of the one close to Kenner brah. The Girly always seems to want to go in to Gordon's but I don't think she's purchased more than a few bucks worth of stuff in all the years she's lived here. Mostly, it gives her ideas for stuff to make. Or worse, stuff for ME to make.Either way, as someone mentioned, it's very random with its selection and some of the prices are really confusing, but all in all, it's an ok place to walk behind you SO and mumble Uh-huh...yeah, that IS nice...and nod a lot.

Reasons to go to Gordon's:You need some picture frames, art supplies, a slipper chair, some artificial flowers, and a bunch of Saints accoutrement. Honestly, they have the most random stuff. Before the National hobby chains game to town, there was Gordon's (and used to be Eric's of whatever part of town). Seriously, this location has the most random assortment of furniture; I was very surprised that they didn't have what I was looking for...an umbrella stand.Lots of seasonal bric-a-brac. And I believe they have a service department that will make dried flower arrangements/wreaths/swags for you. They also have a framing department.

I live in Houston. Whenever I am lucky enough to come to NOLA, Gordons is my FIRST stop!!! I love it!!! My husband patiently (well sometimes) waits in the car while I go on a "pleasure hunt". I always find the most unique and beautiful treasures for my home.Would love to have a store in Houston, but then would need another reason to visit NOLA. Ok, that wouldn't be hard......

Stopped at Gordon's today to look at Christmas decorations. I was very disappointed. I'd say 80% of decorations they are selling are made in China. Very very overpriced. You can go to other stores in the area and get authentic decorations made in places like Germany ( nutcrackers) cheaper and made by an actual artist. I just feel like they are marking up items too much and cheating customers.

I'm obsessed with this place. I love all of the furniture. Prices are high (or it would be 5 stars). They have a great floral department and a framing department. Highly recommend this store!

Plain and simple if you want to buy N.O. things for people while your are in town this is where you go. It looks like it is falling apart and it might be. The inside is packed with N.O. themed knickknacks. cheese knives with alligators on them to wine bottle holders. It isn't something you need to make sure you see. It is just there.

I'm from Michigan, and after a 3 day search for New Orleans Candles. I was finally able to locate them at Gordons. I arrive at the Gordons at 9:45 am on Friday before the store was open. I stood in front of the door and a young man came to the door and explained they were closed. I explained to him that my daughter really loves the New Orleans Candle Company Candles and this is the only place I could find them. My daughter cares for my autistic son when I travel for business. I really wanted to buy her something she liked for being such a great daughter and sister. Thankfully, he allowed me to enter so I could buy her 4 candles, and I'm grateful to him and his co-workers for allowing me to make my daughter happy! #neworleanscandlecompany #thankyou #greatcustomerservice
