Good Friends Bar

We stopped in here and had lots of drinks here. We were greeted with great attitude and got great customer service all night from Sean. We had a great time chatting it up with all kinds of people here from other states. Bathroom wasn't the best in cleanliness. There is a big communal urinal in Men's restroom so if you're shy about whipping it out with no privacy, then this probably isn't for you. All in all I had a great time and would recommend for a good stop for drinks and will return again.

Out of all the gay bars in New Orleans Good Friends Bar, is probably the cleanest but lacks some of the vibrant energy found elsewhere. The drinks were good, and they have a pool table, so it's a great spot if that's your thing. The music was solid, creating a a cool atmosphere. It's also in a good location, close to other bars, making it easy to hop between spots. Overall, a nice place for a casual night out, but it might not have the same lively vibe as other places.

I come here for drinks every time I'm in NOLA! The beer is always very cold and the service is always on point!

Drinking with Good Friends! A comfortable, cool, LGBTQ and ALL neighborhood bar. Welcoming, friendly, fun service. Full bar with great pours if you know what I mean. Great stop whilst walking the French Quarter.

Was looking forward to visiting this bar since it's classified as a low key casual neighborhood gay bar til we paid for drinks. 8.00 for a plastic cup single? I feel like some of the bars out here just gouge customers who visiting from out of town. This is also a "card only" bar so no cash allowed other than to tip. Ridiculous! Bartender was friendly enough but did seem like he could be full of himself.

I thoroughly enjoy coming to Good Friends for a night out. The drinks are super reasonable but what I enjoy most is the upstairs and balcony area. The music is always on point and there's always a decent crowd upstairs. As I've had the chance to live in the city this year, I've noticed the upstairs area out of habit is where the locals tend to go to immediately. All the bartenders are super friendly though.Jeremy is seriously the gatekeeper of the upstairs bar and does a great job of remembering regulars' names and preferred drink orders. It's like he's already pouring my double ruby red soda upon arrival.Such a great spot for tourists and friends alike.Best part... no cover charge and the balcony is everything. A nice change in pace from the Bourbon Street chaos since it's right around the corner.

Fun vibe, great service and always The Best Ice Cream Drink ever (BCS drink). A place for locals and visitors alike.

Service and drinks were great. We went in early afternoon in September. It was a pretty warm day when a much older couple hurried in and the wife ran straight to the bathroom. She was obviously in distress and the husband seemed embarrassed. Before the husband could get a word out, The bartender screamed at the top of his lungs that bathroom's were for customers only (understandable). This couple was at least in their upper 60's and had an emergency situation going on. The bartender even screamed at the husband to stand outside of the bar and wouldn't let him wait for his wife inside..Treated him like a child..The husband was completely embarrassed and kept apologizing quietly and the bartender berated him for not buying something. HelI, I wouldn't buy something from someone yelling at me! Had the bartender handled the situation better,he could've had new customers..He was unnecessarily disrespectful of this older couple , probably tourists..and unpleasant for us to witness. There was no reason to embarrass them as they were in distress. It only made the situation worse. I hope Karma is swift! Not everyone would've put up with that kind of blatant abuse.

We love this place! Ray, the bartender was awesome. He was friendly and very attentive. He made us drinks that weren't even on the menu. Great atmosphere and we really enjoyed hanging out here.
