This is my favorite chinese food in the country! Having been USMC for twenty years, traveling from one Coast to another for and then serving additional ten in Civil Service, I have tasted many variations of Kung Pao Chicken (SPICY, with peanuts of COURSE). Chinese Golden Dragon Buffet L14. Kung Pao Chicken When I tell you that this is the absolutely very, Very best KUNG PAO CHICKEN I have ever eaten, made, or ever TASTED. I am very particular about about how I like my sauce. Usually it is made too sweet (UGH!), too salty (bitter - even worse), or most often, just LACKING. Lacking the right ingredients. Lacking the know-how, or it feels like the chef is experimenting on your taste buds. BUT, this ONE place does it right!!!New Orleans may be home to the best Southern cooking in the world, but the Chinese Golden Dragon Buffet @ 100 S Tyler St., Covington, LA 70433, is THE #1 SPOT to go for the best KUNG PAO CHICKEN, (I like mine with peanuts.)

This establishment is deplorable and that's being generous. I just stopped in for a quick lunch, buffet mind you, 2 people in the restaurant, there is hardly any food out. Waited for 10 minutes for drinks, and thought more food would be put put out, nope, No lo mien, rice cold, pepper chicken was gummy like left overs, my son and and 9 yr old grandkid even complained food was bland and tasteless. We ate a couple of small portion plates each and said that's enough of this stuff, Cost. 2 adults 1 kid. 55.00!! They also charge a 3 .00 surcharge for cards!!

Horribly bland and flavorless. Not even a speck of salt. We ordered from DoorDash and they took "buffet" off their name and made it simply "golden dragon restaurant." Don't be fooled by the yellow rice it's just coloring no flavor at all.Pretty sly and misleading but never will order again!

This was really gross. Veggie lo mein that was old and clumpy. Mystery meat sesame chicken. 2 packets of soy sauce for 3 entrees, and no chopsticks. If this was super cheap, then I'd say that I got what I paid for. But this was like $40 subtotal.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. They attempted to scam me, and I'm sure I'm not the first. Their website has Mongolian beef listed for $8.99. I called and ordered Mongolian beef and an egg roll for pickup. I went in to pay, and they tried to charge me $18.99. They said I didn't order the "value plate." Mind you, there is only one Mongolian beef item on their menu, and it is listed for $8.99 (see screenshot). I told them I would just like the $8.99 portion. They brought that out, and it probably could have been eaten in 4 large bites, quite literally.This place is dishonest. Do not waste your money.
