It was just starting to return to seasonal norms last week when our party of 4.5 (a 6 year old in tow) strolled into Gianna for dinner. We have some serious food snobbery among our ranks, especially when we are within the Italian category. Fresh pasta made at home is not an anomaly in our world. We all ordered the family style prix fixe for $65. What. A. Feast. Everything from the chopped salad (olives, baby lettuces, parm, and a light heat in the after taste) to the garlic cheese bread to those meatballs were prepared with expert care. But the show stopper? The Amatriciana. The pasta was perfectly made and the sauce. The sauce was drink-it-like-it's-soup good. We added on a hunk of their puccia bread to literally wipe the bowl clean and it was a food memory I will snuggle with at night. And yes, the pizza was good, and yes, the drum was lovely, but man. That pasta... and I make a LOT of pasta. That is something truly special. To close, butterscotch budino and lemon mousse cake - both were exceptional, but we all swooned over the butterscotch. This was all backed by some solid (and patient, we did have that 6 year old) service. Was it cheap? Nope. But was it something that will live in my food memory for years to come? Abso-ducking-lutely.

Nice place to try. The pork chop was amazing, just be hungry, 16oz pork chop is a lot. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were great. They were super helpful explaining the menu and made great recommendations. One thing, highly suggest making reservations if you want a table.

My friends and I had a great experience at Gianna from start to finish. It was a busy night but the service was great and attentive. As we all trickled in at the start of our reservation, we were immediately shown to our table and given water and offered a sparkling option which I accepted. We also ordered cocktails straight away. I went with the espresso martini which was delicious and just what I needed to give me a little energy boost. We ordered a ton of items off the menu including the meatballs, Margherita pizza, lamb lasagna, spaghetti with shrimp, kale pesto pasta and more bread. It was all so good. I'll admit that previous experiences here weren't the best so I'm glad to see that it has improved on all fronts. Worth the money for sure. I look forward to another visit sooner than later!

A beautiful dining room, bright and clean too. Service was a little slow despite only a few other tables only. The servers took a while to bring water and not very attentive.Foods quality was good. The pasta and meatballs were delicious. Cheese pizza was a little dry, prefer more sauce. Garlic bread was crunchy and cheesy. Soup was nice, just all little salty but hub likes it.

We came here after after going to another place to have breakfast and were not attended to, so after about five minutes we walked out and while walking down the street we saw this place and looked it up on Yelp and decided to give this place a try and glad we did. The service was great and it seems like everyone from the courthouse and surrounding corporate businesses come here for lunch. We came on a weekday around noon and it was pretty busy. We walked here, but there is parking on the street right out front. I had the Lamb Lasagna and it was different but great. Prices are fair, I am comparing to California prices.

LOVED!! The ambiance of Gianna is stunning, and I can't speak more highly of our service. From the hostess to our waiter, everyone is so accommodating, attentive, and kind. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and offered excellent advice. My drink was "the harvest" and it was delish! If you like sweeter drinks, I recommend! To start, we got the "provola" as an appetizer. A flavor bomb in our mouths!! This was delicious and the best thing I had all night. The Italian sausage had a great flavor topped with the best cheese. For our entrees we got the "ricotta gnocchi" and the "orecchiette pesto alla trapanese." My gnocchi was a great texture, not mushy at all. Highly recommend Gianna!

The food was amazing and the service matched. Our server was excellent - friendly, attentive and fun. There was a bad storm and the streets were flooded the night of our reservation. The restaurant made sure everyone could forget about the weather during the meal. I cannot wait to return on my next trip to New Orleans

Must admit I am very surprised this restaurant is in NOLA. The menu and cuisine is so different yet so delicious that if you are willing to try different cuisine while in NOLA... this is your spot. The ambiance is quaint. It's perfect for friends gathering or an 1st date. The plates can be shareable and so glad we shared! Not your typical Italian dishes. Extremely unique and beyond tasty! The desserts were DELICIOUS! The service was perfect. Since it was my 1st time, the wait staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about their menu. Some dishes were their recommendation... and they were right! Stop by ... try Gianna out... price point is $$$$, but it's worth every penny!!!

This is a beautiful, modern restaurant located in the CBD of New Orleans! We visited for a friend's birthday on a Tuesday night, and the experience started off on a great note. The host called ahead to confirm the birthday, and to our surprise, they customized the menu with the birthday guest's name--a thoughtful touch that really made him feel special.Appetizers: * Calamari: While the portion size was small (we had to order two for a table of five), the calamari was light and crispy. However, I wish there had been more actual calamari "meat." * Garlic Bread: Warm, fresh, and delicious. The bread was soft with a generous amount of cheese--definitely my favorite appetizer. * Meatballs: Hearty and filling; one was more than enough. If it's your birthday, it even comes with a candle, which was a fun detail.Entrees: * Saltimbocca: Thin veal wrapped with prosciutto and capers, perfectly salty and paired with lemony pasta. However, the pasta was a bit too tangy for my taste. * Margherita Pizza: Delicious but a little disappointing as it couldn't be customized.Dessert: * Panna Cotta: I believe this came with apricot, though I think the fruit could've been left out. The panna cotta itself was creamy and delicious.

Gianna's is in walking distance from the New Orleans Convention Center and we were looking for an upscale spot for a semi-large group. The staff were able to accommodate us and very helpful with food and drink suggestions for a bunch of first timers to New Orleans. The drink menu offers a great selection of iconic New Orleans favorites (I had a Sazerac or two) as well as seasonally inspired home recipes. On the suggestion of our waitress I ordered the Lamb Lasagna. Such flavor and so different, it's like being hugged by an Italian nonna. Wonderful spot away from the French Quarter.
