I drove by the last Friday evening in October, and the place was packed, no decent parking left, so I came back during the day on Sunday, and I am so glad I did. What a lovely place! Very spooky and creepy!

My niece wanted to have some Halloween fun last month so we drove over to Ghost Manor and watched the fun. We watched from across Magazine as it was really crowded around 8pm the Saturday before Halloween. It's amazing that this is just someone's fun decor! The 11 year old niece thought it was up to Disney standards. And since we are both short, across the street gave the best viewing. And when an additional character suddenly appeared, it was less scary to be far away. The songs were fun and the synchronization was great. My favorite are the animated eyeballs in the top windows. To watch the full cycle of songs took less than 30 minutes. The music isn't too loud... which I'm sure the neighbors are appreciative of. And the scariest thing I saw was an older man who almost walked into Magazine street traffic because he forgot where he was. Park a few blocks away and walk over. Don't stop right in front of the house and block traffic or the views of the people who are already watching. Be friendly and don't try to scare little kids!

Every year this display out does itself from the previous year. 2017 featured the window projections, the pumpkins and the music. Most of the action was relegated to the upstairs windows and how they seamlessly tied together. There were some creepy figures in the downstairs windows, but that was the extent of the display. However THIS YEAR, I believe the owners name is David, got mega serious about the show content and really blew this out of the water. How????1. 50+ pumpkins that light simultaneously OR independently, and some have dimmers. Oh and they are carved from a synthetic or glazed to prevent rotting. Either way I'm impressed.2. Multiple fog machines that cover the grounds and spill out into the street.3. Exterior music that alternates between recognizable tunes and creepy dirges/monster sounds.4. Projection imagery that is seamlessly broadcast across at least 4 upstairs windows. Ghosts, slime, blood, dancing werewolves, skeletons and more. Oh! AND some of the projected dance numbers sync up with the songs! Whut!5. Skeletons that sing and MOVE!! Not only can they move their jaws in time to the words, but they headbang and can move independently from the others. AND they have glowing eyes that can change color!6. The light show! Completely timed to coincide with music and drums and to create drama and excitement, lighting is everything.7. The NEW animatronic Frankenstein's creature that sings along to "Putting on the Ritz" but returns to its docile state after the performance.8. Lastly, humor. From Michael Jackson, to Queen to Louis Prima, the action, singing and production as a whole is more than enough to hold your attention and astound you. No bones about it-go check it out before it's too late!

You know those Disney Halloween movies you used to watch as a kid where all of the neighborhood houses were perfectly decorated for Halloween with pumpkins, skeletons and lights? Well, Ghost Manor was exactly like that, only better.I first heard about this house last year and I was determined to check it out this year, especially since they added a few things. Every year the family that lives in his house brings it to life with singing skeletons, shadows of ghosts and skeletons dancing in the windows, lights that move with the music and pumpkins that flash in time with the tunes.Ghost Manor is "open" from sundown to 10pm the last two weeks of October and the "show" plays every 15 minutes or so and from beginning to end it's really cool. The owner of the house builds and creates everything himself, so this isn't just some store bought decorations hooked up to music. We were here on Halloween night and, of course, the whole area in front of the house was packed and there were people handing out candy and trinkets to trick or treaters. Ghost Manor is a cool piece of New Orleans "local flavor" and a fun alternative if you don't want to bring your child to an actual haunted house.

Now that's Entertainment!I'm a big Halloween fan and while I prefer a bit more chills in my entertainment, this could not have been more fun. From the projections in the windows, to the Bohemian Rhapsody singing skeletons, everything was brilliantly thought out and times. My particular favorite part had to be "Puttin on the Ritz!". That was awesome.

Had the best time exploring this house. I had read about it online and was prepared for a little let down- but to my surprise - it actually surpassed my expectations. The time and effort put into this is beyond obvious. I'm so glad I was here for Halloween and able to see this.

Awesome Halloween display! It cycles through about 5 different songs with a great light and laser show along with a nicely decorated yard including fog machines. Definitely worth the stop if in the area.

It was neat to see a house so decorated for Halloween. We were only there during the daytime, so I bet the real show happens after dark.
