George's Produce

After having come to this place for a few years, I've decided to take my business elsewhere. Today was an extremely horrible experience with George. He was very nasty to me, extremely rude and disrespectful. After I called him to tell him that I didn't appreciate his attitude and the manner by which he spoke to me, he apologized but the damaged was already done. Some folks I know won't patronize him anymore because of his behavior and rotten fruits and vegetables. So, last year, we purchased their mustard greens for $20 a case. So, I went in today to ask if the greens are still $20 a case and he went off like a mad man. He yelled and said, "Ma'am, I know you never bought mustard greens here for $20 a case and I don't believe you just said that to me." With this loud and obnoxious voice, he kept running his mouth, so I walked in the back to talk to the more sensible person, his wife. I asked his wife and she said yes, they were $20 a case last year but prices have increased to $36 a case. That's all the idiot had to say. Everyone knows that Hurricane Ida all but demolished their establishment so prices were probably increased for repairs. A simple, prices have increased GREATLY from last year would've sufficed. But nooooo, he starts yelling at me, the customer. He ought to be glad I needed these greens for Thanksgiving or I would have just walked out. I accepted his apology but I'm never going back there. Not sure if he's bi-polar or something but he was deranged today.

I read about this place on FB and decided to go. The produce was very fresh and everything was delicious. The prices were through the roof. The owner was very kind and we talked for a bit. I may go back but i will not race back because the prices were so high.

Great place for fresh fruit, produce, and all of the things that remind of you of what your grandmother had in her kitchen.

George Produce on Terry Parkway has fresh produce everyday. They were established over 50 years, originally located in the French Market. They grow a lot of their produce. They are responsible growers and are well educated in their craft. They have excellent customer care service. My family has been customers for 45 years.

I visited George's Produce today. This place is loaded with all of the fresh fruit and veggies you could imagine! The owner was there having healthy conversation and boy oh boy he is a riot! Mr. George and his wife are so sweet! I bought some fresh Creole Okra, sweet potatoes, satsuma's, pecans and they have salad dressing to die for!!! The prices are so reasonable and the service is so individualized. I promise this will be the best stop you ever make. I love this place!

Great place for fresh fruit and hard to get items unique homemade items and the feeling of Sunday dinner.

I read Xander Peter's article "What happened to New Orleans' Black truck farming culture?" and was eager to check out George's Produce for myself. I had such a blast with George when I visited the stand yesterday. He was kind, attentive, and informative, sharing his knowledge of how to cook certain vegetables and how his father had taught him to grow and strengthen social connections with the farmers to ensure high-quality crops. I bough an array of blueberries, cherry tomatoes, sweet potato, eggplant, and more. I also bought jars of apple walnut butter and blackberry preserves made by his wife and daughter. George and his wife are the nicest people i've ever met. the produce is great and their canned products are delicious! if you're looking to buy local produce i 100% recommend going here.

George the owner have an nasty a** attitude... he also be scheming with those high prices.. he's definitely a get over! Go to Bubba's Produce because there's better service and their very professional. Plus you know the amounts of all produce because there's a list. George give prices off head. He also lies and say he grow his produce himself! Lies! Never again coming back!!! Promise that!
