George's Mexican Restaurant

I like to go for happy hour and have their margaritas and sit outside. Super friendly!

First time dining at this restaurant. It had begun raining shortly before we dined in. After placing an order, I realized the front entrance of the parking lot began to hold a large amount of water. So I had to move my vehicle. The hostess said the parking lot was recently re-done. Be mindful of parking by entrance if it's storming.I tried the sangria, house margarita and then a more expensive margarita with better tequila. The sangria wasn't worth the price I paid. The sangria tasted like a red blend wine that was somewhat watered down with an orange slice thrown in. The house margarita was awful. The house margarita tasted like a premixed margarita mix from Walmart with the cheapest shot of tequila thrown in. The more expensive margarita was decent, but not worth the high price.Be mindful when ordering the alcoholic drinks, the prices on the physical menu are for the small sizes. For instance I believe the George's Especial Margarita was $12.50 on menu, however I got a large and I believe receipt said $22.50.The menus you find online are incorrect relative to the prices. The physical menus in the restaurant, the prices have increased by $1-$3 on food and drinks.The restaurant charges what appeared to be 4% credit card surcharge.The food was decent tasting however it seems the portion sizes are small. I got the carne asada and the meat was barely enough for 2 flour tortillas.Your first order you get $5 off, and then if you do the rewards program, eventually you get free food.The service and waitresses were wonderful, however overall this restaurant is a 3 Star max. I will not be returning. There are better options for Mexican food nearby.

We have been regular customers there for over 20 years. They have some of the best authentic Mexican food. We always enjoy ourselves there.

Service was wonderful, the owner was very attentive, and the dip trio was awesome. However, the kitchen failed us with timing. While my wife's filet came out nice and hot (slightly overcooked, but a nice size!) nothing else did. My daughter had cold steak nachos and all of my food was less than room temp. The actual plates were HOT, but they had obviously been under a heat lamp waiting on the filet. Our kind server offered to remake my plate. My taco was remade and my other plate was thrown in a microwave and served to me again. Absolutely not remade. Food was still cold, but the plate was even hotter. We may try again, but I'm so disappointed. It started off so well. We also went at 3, so there were only about five tables in the restaurant.

I am giving them a 2 star only because the service here was pretty good, and 1 star would take away from that. Everything was brought out promptly, and the servers were very friendly.That being said, we decided to go to George's for the first time, and we were pretty disappointed. I feel like I've been to so many Mexican restaurants (since that is so common in this area), and this was the worst by a long shot.We went because I have seen cars lined up on the service road many times. I thought that SURELY it must be good, but I am seriously questioning the people that line up to go there.My date and I ordered house drinks (a sangria and a margarita). They were just meh...not terrible, but not my favorite.The salsa and the sour cream were my favorite things I got from there.I ordered a plain white queso, and he ordered a queso with chorizo. I could not get more than a few bites into my queso before I just thought, "this isn't worth the calories." My date did not order anything else, but I decided to get the meal of 3 chicken hard tacos (what I get at most Mexican restaurants). The taco shells reminded me of great value, but they honestly were not bad--it was the chicken that was awful. I ate the first taco and thought it was okay (I was super hungry and had not really had much queso). I started on the second taco, and I could not finish it. I kept getting a "boiled in dirty water" taste from the meat. I tried the 3rd one just to make sure and same thing....i think my hunger masked how awful it was.So there I was, disappointed to say the least, and when we get the check, it was $52 (including a 20% tip). I would rather go to Taco Bell and spend $52 than go back.I decided not to complain about the food to them because it wasn't just one thing--it was everything, and I'm not sure what they can do to fix it. I hope they try so they can keep those lines, but at this rate, I can't see it continuing to be successful.

Let me just start by saying my husband and I STILL talk about the bean dip!! And we went there 3 weeks ago! Glad we stumbled across this place. Food was fresh, service was great considering they closed in an hour when we got there. We will def be back

Always good to I've been going to George's for over 30 years. The food is always consistent, whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It's very good traditional Mexican food.

The guacamole tasted like it was out of a bag. The queso cooled and was rubbery and inedible. The beans and rice were completely tasteless. Even the birria taco lacked flavor. That was all bad enough, but my entire family was up all night with stomach issues. Our son even threw up and then started feeling better. This was on a Saturday night. I called to tell the owner's on Sunday. They didn't care at all. This place was good 10 years ago. Now the food and owner are equally awful.

We like the chips and salsa and the margaritas are good....several flavors are available. Great service. Typical Mexican decor.... Very colorful and premises are clean.
