Garrison Kitchen in Metairie is slinging plates that'll make you weak in the knees. Let's start with the Walnut Old Fashioned--smooth, a little nutty, and just strong enough to get you into some fun trouble. The burrata? So creamy and luscious, it practically begs you to spread it all over. Then there's the chicken cutlet sandwich, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside--like a perfect first date you actually wanna take home. The fresh pasta is always house-made. And those scallops? Seared so perfectly, they melt in your mouth like a whispered secret. Garrison knows how to tease your taste buds--just be ready to surrender.

I'm not complaining about the food as it was good and appetizers were amazing. The salad was fresh and drinks definitely hit the spot. The visit was just hands down horrible with service. My party had multiple orders for drinks put in but they had a excuse to put the food order in. The party sat at 7:45 and it was 9:00 by the time we got to order food. The best part was the drink spilled on my wife after dinner. The manager came up to apologize but for a large party of people that made the mood and room quiet.

10/10! Service was amazing, food was on point and the atmosphere is a vibe! Love their decor and the outdoor space is just as stunning as the inside. They offer a Texas ginger beer that tastes better than Vernon's! The braised short ribs were extremely tender and the brussel sprouts were flavorful. I can't wait to try more of their menu.

I've been tossing around the number of stars I should assign Garrison, and I couldn't decide for a bit. Four or five? I landed on five for the following reasons. This being a fairly new spot, I was impressed with the smooth service we received. There weren't any hiccups and our server was a such a pro that I felt as if I was at a long established New Orleans gem. She was extremely helpful and her suggestions were spot on. She was attentive and professional, with a strong side of genuine kindness. The food was all solid with the exception of the duck salad. Although the flavor of the duck was nice, the rest of the dish felt like nothing. It was as if the intent was just to serve a small bit of tasty duck, and then the chef decided that there should be some presentation, so they placed it on some filler. I think a few slices of duck on a beautiful, small plate would've been nice, and at a lower price point. The focaccia bread service was good. Now for my burger - it was delicious. It was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. I would have appreciated a side of fries or fancy onion rings, so maybe in time this will change. Aside from my burger looking very lonely on the plate, it was a win. I had the king cake cocktail with my meal and I am blown away. It was a perfect interpretation. My hat is off to whomever conceived this unique drink. I've had my share of king cake cocktails over the years, and this was by far my absolute favorite. Y'all, it was sweet but a little bold, and the cinnamon flavor was exactly enough. I wanted a second one, but am a lightweight, so had to limit myself on this particular night. The decor and ambiance were nice as well.

We have visited Garrisons a couple of times and the food is pretty good. First visit we tried the ribeye and the bolognese. Steak was tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The bolognese was creamy and rich. Delicious but definitely enough for a couple of meals. On our 2nd visit we tried the porkbelly with cabbage and the grill pork chop with grit cake. The pork belly was tender and quite tasty. We both would have preferred a little char on it. The pork chop was a fail unfortunately overcooked, tough, and dry. However the grit cake served with the chop was amazing. They were very understanding and removed the chop from the bill. Dont forget to try the French 75 with cognac.

Garrison is a cute new spot in Old Metairie with a more trendy, moody ambiance! I didn't get many pics, but it's a good place for cocktails and apps. I loved the Cheesecake (pictured) as well as the Shrimp Toast! I'll definitely be back to try the dinner or brunch service.

Darren and Janae are the absolute BEST bartenders I have ever had. First of all, the espresso martini is to DIE for, the prickly pear (add passion fruit) is amazinggggggg!!!! Oh and don't forget to try the onion dip!

Great service and delicious food. Dining room had an uptown home ambiance with tables close together like one big dinner party. It was a fun atmosphere but loud for a romantic dinner date. Next time I'll try the chef's table if it's just two of us so I can sit close enough for intimate conversation. Hope to go back for another visit.

Beautiful restaurant, great service, seated right away with reservation. Good cocktail menu! Ordered brioche & grilled shrimp appetizers; both were perfectly paired with butters, little veggies, lettuces & sauces that made them uniquely delicious! We shared a chicken cutlet sandwich, that was dressed with fresh arugula, tomato, olives & a wonderfully prepared sauce. It came with thick cut fries & a garlic aioli. Whole menu is well throughout, prepared & "foodies" will love this place! Yum!

I met up with some of my girlfriends for an early Sunday evening dinner. There was only one other table in the set of rooms off to the right of the bar and about 4 guests seated at the bar. We were seated in a beautiful corner booth. The ambiance was a little odd to me. The room we were in literally looked like someone's home and there was no music or any other background noise, so we felt our conversation was amplified. There are two gender neutral bathrooms (which were both clean and well stocked but a tad dark.) We ordered a bottle of bubbles since it was 50% off and also had some martinis. Having read the other comments about the fullness of the glasses I braced myself but honestly I had no problem with the pour. The espresso martini was delicious and bold. We were disappointed because we had come in for the prime rib special that was advertised on the website but it was not available. One of my friends ordered the pork sandwich, which was also unavailable, so she got a burger instead. The food was kinda meh. We shared the cauliflower, onion dip and shrimp toast appetizers, and honestly I was not wowed by any of it. I had the scallops for my entree, which were fine. Two of us ordered the chocolate mousse and cheesecake for dessert- also just ok. The tastiest thing I ate were French fries.Service was fine. Nothing extraordinary but not bad either. I took a peek out the back door and the courtyard area looks like it'd be nice to chillax in when the weather warms up. But there wasn't much on the menu or in the whole experience in general that excites me enough to come back. So, not bad but not great. Probably would not return or if I did it would be for drinks in the courtyard.
