We stayed here a few nights while visiting New Orleans for the first time, and it's definitely one of the best decisions we've made on our roadtrip! The B&B is located in the Garden District, away from the overly touristy French Quarter, in a much more relaxed and authentic neighborhood. It's a very walkable area, with lots of bars, restaurants and shops nearby. Parking on the street is also free, and we never had an issue finding a spot nearby. Our host, Ray, was wonderful. She coordinates your arrival to make sure she can check you in when you get there and give you a little tour and explain how all the keys work. She also provides small breakfast snacks in the morning. Her banana bread and cupcakes were delicious! The house itself has such an authentic feel to it, which we really appreciated. I do agree with others saying the bathroom being outside of the room on the top floor was a bit weird, but you don't share it with others so it's OK. There were plenty of towels provided, as well as soap, shampoo and conditioner. Inside of the room, there was water, orange juice, a mini fridge, a microwave, glasses, cups and cutlery. There were also AC units in the windows, so you can stay cool as it heats up outside. The one issue I personally had, is that I have a massive dust mite allergy that started acting up from the first night I spent in the room. It's an older house, so it is to be expected. The allergy only got worse as time went on and I had to take Zyrtec for the duration of our stay because my eyes and throat were very itchy and inflamed. If you suffer from the same allergy, either bring your meds or be prepared to deal with potential issues.Apart from the allergy issue, I highly recommend staying at the Garden District Bed & Breakfast because you won't find a more authentic NoLa experience than this!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is apparently over 170 years old and very charming. If you prefer a cozier vibe to a cookie cutter hotel, then definitely consider staying here. Be aware, the bathrooms are tiny and the mattresses are very firm. Our friends had no problems with their mattress, but my husband and I had extremely sore backs. The food offerings were grab and go items like bagels, granola bars, drinks, apples and bananas, and homemade baked goods. The banana bread is delicious! Our porch and patio were beautiful. Our room also had a little kitchenette with a sink, fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. We were given a jug of drinking water, and the kitchen was stocked with utensils and dinnerware. Location is really convenient for restaurants and shopping along magazine street or exploring the garden district.

First of all, its a pre-civil war building thats been a B & B since the 1950's, they have 5 rooms (actually each room is a bedroom and a sitting room, quite large actually) and its safe to describe them as possessing plenty of unique old world charm. Having said that, if you're expecting the Hilton or similar, you'll be very unhappy. The host is terrific and has clearly been at it for a while, the rooms were clean and well appointed in their own funky way. The bathroom in our case perhaps was a closet in a past life and is now fitted with a tub/shower, toilet and small sink and I dare say you could not fit more than that into it. But it was clean and well provisioned. Our room had a microwave, coffee pot and small dorm style refrigerator in it. Parking is on the street and its free and plenty of it. The location on Magazine street is as safe as anywhere in NOLA but still you need to be careful. I think this place offers good value and the host is great. Only downside is the breakfast is at best a grab and go continental but there are plenty of places within a mile of here that offer great breakfast options.

Raynell is the sweetest and the BnB is so quaint and charming. We LOVED our stay and if you're looking for an authentic experience of NOLA, look no further. Support a local business rather than the hotel chain. This BnB was everything we wanted and more. We stayed in the patio room. Little bit of street noise at night was like white noise and not too bad. If we every come back, we will stay here.

I adore the Garden District B&B! Ray was extremely charming, accommodating, friendly, helpful, can't say enough good things about her.The house is a beautiful old building in the heart of the Garden District. We stayed in the Rose room and it was so cute! I loved that we had a mini kitchen that was separate from the bedroom. They left us milk and OJ in the fridge, along with some yogurt and cereal if you want it.From the B&B you can walk to a lot of great places on Magazine Street, it's only a few blocks to the streetcar, and I swear everywhere in the Garden District smells like gardenias (my favorite). A much welcome scent after smelling stale beer and ('scuze my French) piss in the French Quarter. Stay here! You won't regret it.

My friend booked this room and invited us to come along for 3 nights over Good Friday weekend. I loved the location on Magazine Street. The room (Bassetti) was perfect for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. My daughter and I shared the trundle bed; it was comfortable. We loved having the upstairs balcony overlooking Magazine Street. The pastries and coffee were nice to have in the morning. Your refrigerator will be stocked with a pitcher each of milk, orange juice and water; it is enough for about 4 of the small juice glasses in your room. There is also a toaster and microwave. The room was properly cooled. The free internet service worked great. The host was nice. Be sure to go to District Donuts. The closest place to go to eat is Tracey's, which is kid friendly (we found that most places in this area closed at 9pm; those that didn't don't allow anyone under 21). I will be back. Thanks for having us.

We loved our stay here! Everything was perfect. The Inn oozes charm and character, and our room was large, clean, well-appointed, and had a great balcony with a view of Magazine Street. It is easily accessible to all the sites, shops, and restaurants in the Garden District, and the bus stops right in front for easy access to the rest of the city. Raynell, the host, was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and we appreciated the light breakfast and snacks that were provided. We ate and slept well, heard lots of great music, and hope to return soon!

My sister found this gem for our visit. Conveniently located in the Garden District right by bus stop and couple blocks from trolley. We had the Rose room. Very quaint bed & breakfast. Rose room is upstairs and has a mini kitchen with refrigerator & microwave & sink. The bedroom was clean and nice. Stand up shower- comes with soap, shampoo & conditioner. Hair dry as well. Breakfast was grab & go-fruit, bars, muffins, bagels. Nothing fancy but we were eating out so it didn't matter. Owner was very sweet & nice! They have several other rooms. Definitely worth a look. Our rates were decent compared to the chain hotels. Fun & quaint!!
