Garcia's Famous Mexican Food

My wife and I dropped by Garcia's in Covington for Saturday afternoon happy hour margaritas and an appetizer. Sat in the bar and service was excellent. Garcia's is a good place for Mexican and meals there in the past have been good. Ambiance is casual and friendly. I noticed yesterday that decor and finishes, especially outside, might need a little refreshing, but all in all a good experience.

It wasn't bad, but obviously the kitchen does not know how to season food or even use salt. Won't you put salt on anything even guacamole or queso? It's not bad at all so keep that in mind when you order.

Had the pleasure of stopping by for an early lunch mid week. Upon entry, it looked as though no one was working. Waited about 5 mins to be seated as waiter appeared to be working the floor as well as the kitchen. The strawberry margarita and limp crabmeat/shrimp quest was absolutely delicious. We had the beef and shrimp tacos which were just ok and a bit bland. The corn was over cooked and the rice was bland also.

Great location that is family owned and they support the police and first responders. Good food and great atmosphere. You can sit at the bar and enjoy a large selection of high-end bourbons/whiskeys or an assortment of margarita flavors. We will be back!

This place is BOMB!! Service is excellent, the food comes in a timely manner, and the food is delicious!! We ordered the street tacos al pastor and the street pizza al pastor, and they were delicious!! You have to definitely ask for a side of guacamole when they bring out the chips n dip!!

Nice restaurant, waitress was missing often and had to wait for everything. Food was presentable but tasted bland, not good at all and we didn't eat our entire meal or bring anything home. I would not recommend wasting your money on this place. Taco Bell is better and cheaper...or find another Mexican Restaurant.

The food, meh. The vibe, super creepy. When you walk in there is a sign proclaiming what I guess the owner's paranoid political positions and it asks you to leave if you don't agree with them. That's actually good advice, whether you agree with them or not. I had a salad with almost no vegetables in it. I would choose one of the other many Mexican restaurants in the area instead of this one.

The meats are always tender and beautifully seasoned. The chips are crisp. The salsa perfectly spicy. The fried ice cream was a dream. The servers are quick and attentive. For the cost: an absolute bargain. Great seating and authentic decor. Very clean and comfortable.

Went in for lunch. Ordered the brisket taco salad. The brisket had no flavor, and all I got was a brisket and a few leaves of lettuce. It was gross.

Just moved to Covington from Texas. Went to Garcia's at 8 PM and they said their time of closing at 9PM should be 8PM Very disappointing!
