Gallier Hall used to be city hall and it's a lovely building. I've been to a private party here and to a performance in a small theater that is on site. The architecture is impressive and the building is surprisingly well kept up.Out front on St. Charles Avenue is where city officials greet the carnival monarchs. So it's a pretty great place to be during the season.

Historic & honored. An essential visit for any visitor to New Orleans. Is also a VIP area during Mardi Gras, where "royalty" and captains of Krewes stop to toast the Mayor and other city dignataries.

This building is beautiful! The interior has old southern charm! We're watching the Zulu Parade from the stands for Mardi Gras! It's been an incredible experience so far!

Hubby and I attended the Luna Fete on December 15,2019 . The lighting on Gallier Hall was stunning for Christmas. We have also had the pleasure of being Wedding Guest and the inside of Gallier Hall is awesome.

I've been to several events at Gallier Hall. The building used to serve as City Hall and is now primarily used for special events. Getting in and out is a bit of a nightmare as parking is limited, you have to contend with the traffic and the street car and the construction just compounds the issue. The rooms in this Hall are stunning. pre-war, huge windows and drapes for days. The walls of the hallway are lined with the portraits of our past mayors, popular or not (in jail, or out!) The women's restroom on the second floor is massive and has a mix of antique furnishings and art-deco tile. It's been very well kept. Some of the art in the grand halls are quite impressive, including a tapestry of the city made from many different fabrics. I don't know if it can be used for private events, but it would be a pretty amazing place to throw a party!

I've been here 3 times. 2 times for a party and most recently for a tech convention. I was pleasantly surprised how a perfect fit it was for holding seminars for a group of 100 or more per room. I think this would be an option for those who are looking for convention/ workshops outside of the usual hotel/convention center option.Space is pretty empty so it's up to you to transform it into a beautiful space. I do enjoy walking up those steps! It makes me feel regal :)

I truly love Gallier Hall. I love the main Hall with the paintings of all the Mayors of New Orleans (even if I don't like them all) its beautiful and so regal for this historical building. To add too the wonderful Hall it leads out to the St. Charles street which looks out to the park and street car line which just puts a smile on your face and reminds you that you are in New Orleans. It is a great multi-use venue for all type of events. At this location I have attended weddings, birthday parties, conferences and other special events; which always turn out great. The location is separated by rooms, medium to large rooms with beautiful chandeliers. It's just a old and beautiful space. In this location you can fit comfortably between 50-100 individual in each room. There is no dedicated parking for this location but there is some minimal on the street parking, as well as paid lots along the way. Very central downtown location for everyone.

Pretty cool historical building in New Orleans. The building faces Lafayette Square and is the former New Orleans city hall, built in 1845. I was recently in the reception hall room of the building, in an all pink room with lovely chandeliers! Very ante-bellum and just a beautiful space in general! Too bad I was there for a work related training and not something glamorous. I was told that the building holds a high place of honor during carnival season too. It is where the mayor's official perch is during Mardi Gras parades and where the kings and queens stop by to be toasted by the mayor. Oh the joys of being Mardi Gras royalty!
