Brought in my 17 year old kitty yesterday for euthanasia. She was treated with compassion and patience as she was a semi feral kitty. Dr Reidel and Donna, her vet assistant, were so kind to me and Bindy. Bindy was sedated and while she relaxed, Dr Reidel, Donna and I shared stories of our special kittties who've we lost. After Bindy was given euthanasia, I was able to share alone time with her-for as long as I needed. I've had three kitties in the past who've I brought to Dr Reidel and every time, my kitties left this earth peacefully and lovingly. Stephanie, who works the front desk, spent time with me , as well, showing and discussing my options , including cremation, which I always choose.Thank you, staffs of Furry Friends, for all your compassion at this very difficult time.

I have been going to this vet for years! I have never ever encountered any kind of problem. The prices are great and the ladies are always nice EXCEPT miss Jamie smith!!!! Our experience with her was NASTY! We are in the military and currently residing in Ohio until we got our orders to be stationed in Alaska. We did not think to get any certificates made before we left because we knew any kind of paperwork could easily be faxed. When we called for that specific paperwork Jamie claimed she was going to fax the paper work two days ahead of time to the vet here in Ohio....the day the appointment comes the vet had received NOTHING. We called and she claimed she would fax the papers within the hour......still nothing. After Two hours we called back and had no choice but to be demanding because at this point she was being miserable because of her own doings! If you don't wanna do your job properly you should not take your misery out on the customers! Her attitude left us with a bad taste in our mouths for a vet clinic we have adored for a long time! Once we finally received the paperwork via email from HER personal email she left a sassy note at the top of the email claiming our cat had not been there before being neutered in which he 100% was. When the vet from here in Ohio called they were HIGHLY upset and told us she was nasty over the phone as well to them......which was a total embarrassment and completely unprofessional! If we are ever stationed in New Orleans again we would love to have our furr babies return but not if she is representing the front desk. NO THANKS!

Everyone I know on the West Bank goes to this from everything for dogs to birds to cats to hamsters. We've always been pleased. Besides the good service, everything seems to be priced a little bit cheaper than everywhere else. But I was sold when we had to bring my cat in the other day for his very last visit. :(Cherie the Vet tech and Dr.Reidel were amazing! They stayed later than planned to take care of us last minute but didn't rush us at all. They were so sweet and talked to us and made jokes at all the appropriate times. They were marvelous and I will not go anywhere else now!

i love furry friends. on top of being completely reasonable as far as price goes, they are also willing to work with you on price/payment. they understand that animal care can get expensive, but that, as animal lovers and owners, we need to do whatever is necessary to make sure our animals are happy and healthy. my boyfriend and i bring our two mixed breed rescues there. i'm not sure if my boyfriend took bentley (his dog) there for all his stuff as a puppy because that was before my time. penny (my furball) was adopted from the spca, so they covered all her initial shots and the spay surgery. nonetheless, we take them to furry friends for everything and anything that happens or that we need. ex: penny has contact dermatitis, so i made an appointment to get it checked out and see what the best course of action would be. they prescribed her apoquel, which works. the medication itself isn't super cheap, but the visit is. plus, if/when she needs more, i can just call to get a refill, instead of making another appointment and paying more money. i've never had any issues with the receptionist (and/or vet tech that works the front desk), unlike some other folks who have left comments. she's always been perfectly nice to me. she was really great when i mixed up the time for my appointment once, and was nice enough to try to fit me in, which she ultimately did. the woman doctor, whose name i cannot remember at the moment is absolutely great. you can tell she's so passionate about caring for animals, and isn't just doing it for the good money. she's also willing to answer questions, as long as you're willing to ask them. if you want to understand something better, then you shouldn't be afraid to ask the questions, even if they seem dumb. it's always better to ask and to know. anyway, they had/have a male doctor as well, i believe, and he was great too. i just don't know him as well.the only negative about this place is that it's a little tough to find. it's in a "strip mall" sort of area, so you really just have to know where you're going. luckily, it's on lapalco, which is a major street on the west bank. i'm just not originally from the west bank, so i'm a little less familiar. i've passed it at least a couple times. but anyway, i'm grateful to furry friends for allowing a broke college kid like myself to be able to afford good care for my fur babies.

Very affordable. We brought our cat here to get spayed and it was $10 .I was very upset with the fact I didn't get to meet the vet before hand and that no one went over the procedure with me.We went back a week later for her shots, she was given to shots to cover multiple things and medicine for hookworm prevention it was about $80 for all.

Very disappointed and upset with my experience. My two kittens had shots and were fixed earlier this week. The doctor never came out to give me a briefing on their procedure or to explain what to do/expect post procedure. The girl at the front desk was very quick and vague with checking me out and I felt like I was a bother by the questions I was asking. One of my kittens ended up having issues that night and I rushed her to an ER vet, the doctor at the ER sent furry friends a summary of my kittens visit and I called asking to speakTo the doctor and still have not received a call back! We were sent home without any cones, or medicine to help with pain for the next few days until they were healed. All I was told when checked out was they received a pain shot. Both of my kittens have very bad bruising! And the lack of concern from furry friends all around from drop off, pick up, and after with issues is very disappointing.

I took in two severely neglected animals, one dog and one cat. I wanted to find a lower cost vet to care for these babies since I already have five pets . I found Furry Friends and I wish I would not have ever brought these babies there. These pets had several areas of concern. I admit it was a lot. We left that day feeling like we had gotten somewhere but in actuality we got no where. A month later both animals still had eye, ear, skin, and respiratory infections. We scheduled a dental for both pets. There teeth were bad so we were anxiously awaiting the day. We were told it was $100 for cat and $90 for the dog. I felt like that was a very good price. WELL YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR HERE. Their teeth were scraped but no teeth were removed and their breath still smelled horrible. A few weeks passed and the breath was still awful and the infections were still present. We found a new vet and when she checked the teeth she immediately said that they needed a dental ASAP. She was very upset to hear that they both had teeth cleaned a few weeks earlier. She saw rotten teeth and gum disease. She said that this was definitely causing them discomfort. Both babies are on the right track now. All infections have cleared up and teeth and breath are good. I understand that Furry Friends is a low cost vet but I was never once told how bad the teeth really were and never even given the option to pay more to have it all fixed. I was not even told when I picked them up how bad it really was. It's scary and so heartbreaking that this vet can do this to these animals. Our pets have no voice and we as their owners are trusting this vet to make the right choices in their health care. It makes me so angry to know pets under her care are not getting what deserve. DO NOT bring your baby here unless it's just for yearly vacancies. I'm so disappointed and sad to know that my pets suffered longer than they needed to. Both are doing so much better now with their new vet and the proper medications.
