I brought friends from out of town here this year. It was my first year coming to the festival, but it did not disappoint. We had a great time walking around all the vendors, trying samples, petting adoptable dogs, day drinking, and listening to music. We loved the jewelry booths and actually bought quite a few different pieces. I loved that they had different tables spread throughout the street so people could sit down while eating whatever they just bought. We went right at 11 when it started which was great because the crowd wasn't too bad. After lunch it got really busy, but altogether manageable. We ate lunch at dat dog so we could watch the live music and it was a very enjoyable afternoon. My out of town friends were really impressed by the festival, and we will definitely be back next year.

OK. I just got back. What fun?! Lots of food & drinks, many community booths, lots of jewelry, art, crafts, and stuff for sale. ARNO is there with a puppy that may have stolen my heart (but not really, I promise Sienna). I had a delish mango & pineapple juice snoball from Beaucoup, a crawfish & gruyere empanada from Vega Tapas, a chair massage, some seedlings from the Edible Schoolyard folks, my MiL's bday present, snacks. You name it.PLUS for kids there was a petting zoo (I really wanted to hold one of those piglets) and some bounce houses/space walks and many face painters. You have just under 2 more hours to get out there...or wait until next year! Freret Street Festival happens but once a year and today is the day! It started at noon and only goes until 5. So get out here while you can!

A fun little festival that has helped bring more and more people to this area. Loved most of the vendors there especially the freret street vendors Midway Pizza, Beaucoup Juice, and Dat Dog. Loved the dog adoption at the festival and all the bouncers for the kids! I do think that festivals should provide SOME seating for the expected crowds because not everyone brings a portable lawn chair with them or feels like carrying one all day. I have no problem with standing and walking all day but others are not so fortunate.

It has been a while since I have been to the Freret street festival. I think the last time I went was when I used to live in the area.Besides the obvious fact that Freret street has exploded with all the many businesses that have cropped up in the area. I took a notice of the many vendors there. There were the 4 stages with different kinds of music. I took a look at all the arts and crafts vendors as well as the food vendors. I went and tried the Liberty Cheese steak restaurant that just opened up where Dat Dog originally started. Good stuff but I will talk more about that in another review.I think the best part of my expedition today was running into a lot of my former neighbors. I even ran into my former Landlady as well. Coming back here to Freret street not only makes me miss Uptown, but I also miss living in this particular part of the city.I think the only bad thing was when I had to leave today. But I have decided that I will start coming back more often!

This was my first time coming to Freret Street Fest. Despite the heat (be sure to wear plenty of sunscreen and bring a bottle of water), I had a blast. There were a few vegan vendors that were great for my gluten and lactose free diet. Coconut milk ice cream? Yes please! My bread and milk loving friends also had a great foodie experience and even came across a grilled cheese truck! There was beautiful art, great music, and most importantly... CLEAN BATHROOMS! There were port-a-potties about every block or so and somehow they were clean well into the event. I was very impressed with how well-organized and clean this event was. I'll definitely be coming next year!

This was fun and enjoyable. I never heard of Freret Street Festival before and when I was invited by Vicky L. I thought it would be a nice event. For a whole week I was asking my coworkers about it and kept referring to it as Ferret Festival. Where are the furry cuddly animals!? The name basically says what it is. The street of Freret is closed down to host lots of tents for local companies to sell food and share theirs products. With stages at both ends and even the cross streets, it is an enjoyable event for all. It was not too crowded, but unfortunately there were a few rain drops this year. I had fun soaking up the culture of this side of town and seeing what restaurants are nearby. From reading others reviews, this Festival is growing each year and gets better each time.

I love seeing how big Freret Street Festival has gotten in the last couple years. Yay! We stopped by the Fest shortly after starting time this year, but a lot of the food vendors seemed to be getting a late start. It's all good, we got a bite to eat before we had to leave. Lots of Abita trucks around, which was great. Also, some of the volunteers were zipping around on these tiny cooler-keg-scooters, which kept making me laugh.

Need more bottled water sold! It was so hot and there was only liquor being sold! A few tents had tea which was watered down but no plain water! You will find your usual vendors selling crafts, jewelry, art, etc.The asking prices are a little high. The food selection is good. Not sure if I would make a special trip to go again but I wont avoid it either.
