The muffulettas are fantastic here. I love the fact they are served hot and just a cold sandwich. Love the she crab bisque.

The upstairs balcony definitely made this lunch great. The indoor area was not nearly as nice and felt cramped as we walked through. We had an amazing waiter. I had the vegetarian poboy which was pretty yummy because of the olive spread. Not the best but I was pleased. My cup of crab corn bisque was hot and flavorful. Prices were pretty good as well. It was fun being able to hear the live music coming from the French market. I would recommend this place only if you were able to get a spot on the balcony.

The muffaletta was so good here! We also got the seafood gumbo and that exceeded expectations. The muffaletta comes in half or full sizes. We got the full for a group of four. I was pleasantly surprised that the sandwich didn't eat too salty overall and that it was warm. The bread was a good vehicle for all of the components too. Fluffy but still sturdy enough to hold all the components. The olive tapenade on top added a nice textural contrast as well as a little oil.The gumbos seafood flavor was so strong you can tell the stock is homemade. We even found some crab shells in it. Even though we only got the cup of gumbo there was a ton of seafood in it.Note that they do charge a small fee to use a credit card so expect that or bring cash. They also had an ATM in the store as an option too.

Frank's Restaurant was established in 1965 as a deli serving poboys and Muffaletta sandwiches until 1981 when it was turned into a full restaurant. They have some great Sicilian Italian food and New Orleans Creole food here and quite a variety of offerings. Their menu includes hamburgers, poboys, Sicilian food and Creole seafood dishes that the New Orleans French Quarter is famous for. My biggest complaint about this spot is they only have sweet tea and don't offer unsweetened tea. The prices here are also on the more expensive side. They do have a great upstairs dining room which includes a balcony that gives you a great view of the river facing side of the French Quarter. Overall this is a decent spot to grab a meal and they do have a selection that should make most folks happy. My video review of Franks Restaurant is here:https://youtu.be/N4PkVJoBhUs

The absolute worse food I've ever had in New Orleans. Trash. The catfish po boy looked like it was defrosted and served. The service was even worse. Utterly, atrocious.

Frank's muffuletta is a game changer. Seriously. My dad came to visit and brought one to curb my cravings and it was phenomenal. It's a masterclass in flavor and texture. The perfect balance of cured meats, cheeses, and tangy olives, all piled high on a crispy bread. Each bite will leave you wanting more. If you're a foodie or a sandwich aficionado, Franks is an absolute must visit. I can't wait to visit the city again, grab myself a muffuletta and enjoy the day.

Great food and service. We got to talk to everyone there and we learned some New Orleans history. Garlic bread and marinara sauce were amazing. Everything was good and fresh. Thank you for great service.

We went there on recommendation of a tour guide, but just wasn't impressed. First they tried to sit us upstairs, but there was either a patron or the server asleep at a table up there. We came back down and ate a fairly marginal half muffuletta (bread was dry & crumbly) at one of their street tables. Won't be going back...

The food is good. The garlic bread was a real winner, but the problem is it was just brought to us, not ordered. We thought it was just free bread provided at the beginning of the meal. The texture and flavor were great - not greasy. We were charged $5.95 for it. It is worth it, but only if you actually order it. Our server was very short with us, bordering on rude. The folks in the kitchen were heatedly arguing the entire time we dined (in spite of one of the staff members repeatedly asking them to quiet down as f-bombs were heard throughout the dining room). The meatball sub was very good - the bread was delicious. Side of fries ("fries okay?") were ok, but unnecessary due to the size of the sandwich and were a surprise $5.50 on the check. The Italian sausage was good. The pasta (angel hair) was not homemade and not al dente, sadly. The food deserves a 3 or 4 rating. The service and being charged for unordered bread brings them down to a 2.
