I was strolling around the city and came across this charming little boutique. This family-owned business was established in 2007, and there are two other locations on Royal St. (Rue Royal) If you are looking for a nice, quality souvenir or a thoughtful gift that proudly represents the Crescent City - this is the place! They carry a wide variety of products ranging from apparel, accessories, home décor, books, fragrances, candles, & locally made products. All three shops have different inventory so don't hesitate to visit them all. Most of the items are handmade or locally sourced and the prices are reasonable. Everything was neatly organized, which made it easy & enjoyable to browse at my leisure. The salesclerk that assisted me with my purchase was an absolute doll! I will definitely stop by every time I'm in town.

The merchandise here was lovely - a fun selection of great gifts for yourself and others at a wide range of price points. But I spent probably 20 minutes here and was not acknowledged at all until I went to check out, largely because the two people working here spent the entire time loudly complaining about someone else that apparently works here too. When I did finally go to check out, the woman who waited on me commented on my purchase at Sucre, which I told her was a box of macarons I'd bought for my mom. Without provocation or request for comment, she said, "Well, their stuff is very pretty, but it doesn't taste good. It's expensive and it only sells because it's beautiful." If I had asked her opinion before I had gone there, I might have appreciated it, but her comment only served to make me feel bad about something it was too late to change. I don't know if I was just there on a bad day, but my shopping trip here left me feeling sad. Not what I'm looking for in a shopping excursion.
