Beautiful assortment of ladies fine dresses and gorgeous large, eccentric hats as well as some lovely cocktail dresses and clothing for parties and events. They have hats for Derby and can custom make them inside so, while they sell them - if there is a color or look you really want they're happy to make it for you. Just be warned - these beauties do NOT come cheap. One hat was around $1900 that I looked at and tried on. They also ship them in lovely hat boxes to protect them and for storage.Located along a wonderful shopping street with tons of antique and small cafes.

The hats you can buy here are beyond exceptional. Whether you are looking for a felt hat, a fascinator, or a some frothy straw creation, you will not be disappointed. Tips for getting the most out of your experience:1. Plan on a good chunk of time. Window shopping here is not like in a normal place! The inventory is large, the colors and styles elaborate. Enjoy the experience.2. Come in with clean hair, worn in a style that you would expect to use when wearing a fancy hat. Most women will wear their long hair up when wearing an elaborate millinery creation, so think about that before you arrive. Will you wear a low bun? A chignon? Braids? A wig or extensions? It will make a difference on fit...3. It helps to have an idea of the colors that you like or are looking for, but be open. It is easier to buy a dress/suit/outfit to match a hat than it is to match a millinery masterpiece to something you already own. If however, you are looking to match a specific piece--bring it with you!4. Allow the sales staff to give guidance on what to focus on. They are more than happy to find a style that suits you, your personal style, your face shape, your haircut, etc. They also know the inventory that is in the back and not out on display, so they can pull things from other rooms and from storage if they think it might work better for you.5. Custom work is fine. Every hat in this place is unique, so custom is the name of the game. Love berries in your hat? Have a phobia on ostrich feathers? Just communicate that to the sales staff so they can meet your needs.6. Expect to pay A LOT for your hat. These are not cheap!!! I have been collecting and wearing hats since 1980, and these are hands-down, the most expensive hats compared to anything else that I own (by a factor of 3x or more). But they are also glorious creations, often using vintage millinery supplies. You get what you pay for. These are lifetime hats. 7. Your purchase includes a high quality hat box. My last trip to NOLA, we traveled from Chicago via Amtrak--with bikes--and there was no way to bring the hats home easily. So we shipped them. This was well worth the cost, but again, it was not cheap as they are oversize items. Plan accordingly.8. Be sure to ask for a hat pin--and ask for a lesson in how to use it if you unfamiliar--before closing your purchase.9. Make sure the hat fits before leaving the store (or make a follow up appointment to check on fit). Do the same before shipping your purchase(s).They also have exquisite Italian umbrellas, beautiful dresses and negligees, shawls and wraps, etc.

The most beautiful hats I've ever seen. But talk about sticker shock...still, oh so worth it. Watched a woman and her husband pick out a derby dress and hat. She looked like a princess. Can you really put a price tag on feeling that way? I don't think so.There's usually a sale section. Someday maybe I'll find something. In the mean time, it's worth looking. It makes me happy.

I needed a 1920's inspired gown for the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles' annual Avalon Ball. The window display caught my eye so I stopped by Fleur De Paris spontaneously while walking the Quarter. Inside felt like stepping into a beautiful time capsule. Their hats, accessories, and dresses are detailed, chic, and sophisticated. The gowns are simply gorgeous. High quality material and craftsmanship, rich color choices, and a nice variety of styles. The saleswoman who helped me was friendly and professional. I chose an aqua blue silk-satin halter gown with a slit, knotted front detail, and asymmetrical lines. Even at an event full of lovely outfits, I received many compliments. On the way there a little girl even asked me if I was a princess. I certainly felt like one. Thank you, Fleur De Paris!

Quality hats. Very specialized. They'll fit to your head- none of the pulling a string to get it to fit. If you want something special, go see. (Long time hat wearer).

My husband and I stopped in after marveling (geeking out) over the Twin Peaks inspired window display. We decided to pop in and check out the hats before our dinner reservation. Yes, they're pricey (a small fascinator was $550!) but SO elaborate and intricately designed. The sales staff were fun to chat with as well - they've clearly got passion for their products. Beyond the extravagant hats, the clothing items are lovely and they had multiple sales racks (my kinda style) for $20 - $50. Unfortunately, sizes ran wayyyyy too small so I walked away empty handed. Still, a fun place to look around!

We ended up visiting Fleur De Paris 3 times during our most recent trip to New Orleans & each visit was so different, consider this 3 reviews + an epilogue ( apologies for the novel! )Our 1st visit ranks among the best shopping experiences we've ever had We entered the shop sporting sloppy touristy-wear & w/ every intention of just browsing. Treated like royalty from the moment we stepped foot in the door, the person who helped us was absolutely incredible, totally wonderful, & so, so, fun! With zero indication we would actually make a purchase, she toured us around the shop, talked about each hat style & w/out me even asking, would bring down every single hat that made my eyes twinkle, to make sure I found the one ( or in my case 2 ) I would love foreverThe Mr even got into the spirit & found a nice chapeau for himself - it was an awesome dayOther customers in the store were die-hard fans.....jovial & charmingly chatty around how many Fleur De Paris hats they've purchased over the years & how this place is a pilgrimage for them & a visit they can't pass up..... & then out comes the champagne - it was a true celebration all around. And let's just say this ranks among our *most expensive* impulse-buys & whatever any other reviewer has said about price? Double that. But these hats are true masterpieces & totally worth the extravagance, esp given the fact they come w/ lifetime maintenance. Whenever I care to have the accessories changed, they will swap out like-for-like, free of charge! How awesome is that??So floating on a cloud after we left, we were very much looking forward to visit #2 for our sizings ( the hats needed to be resized to fit our heads )Still sporting sloppy touristy-wear on visit #2, after a somewhat awkward greeting from other staff, our most lovely person came over to assist us & the awkwardness abated.... But she seemed to be the only happy person in the store, as the milliner made it *very* clear she was much too busy to have started our resizing - which was fine b/c hey, it was Derby, they were swamped, & we were there for another whole week. We were in no rush.....but we thought the milliner should have been more cordial, especially as we were standing right there.............but instead of looking on it as a wasted visit, we used the time to decide that another hat, who had been haunting me from visit #1, needed to be part of our grand acquisition & there were more offers of champagne & joviality & we left there happy but not as happy as visit #1Our lovely salesperson wasn't there for our 3rd & final visit, which found us greeted by people who didn't seem to appreciate our sloppy touristy-wearOnce they realized who we were, we were told they just finished boxing up our hats for shipping, so there was no way for us to try them on. If they didn't work out, we could send them back for an adjustment........but .....we're right here in front of you, right now. You can't pull off some packing tape? Epilogue: The hats arrived about a week later & THEY DID NOT FIT!! 1 was too large; 1 was too small. And after spending **thousands** & a separate $100 for shipping, I had little interest returning them "for an adjustment" as I envisioned a never-ending cycle of back & forth shipping where they were never correct.I subsequently located a local milliner who made the adjustments in 1 visit ( but it took him multiple tweaks.....as I suspected!! )Best Tip: Demand an in-person final fitting, before shipping!Overall assessment? The topnotch artistry & quality of the hats as well as the superior service from our 1 lovely salesperson definitely ranks "as good as it gets" - to base my experience on the subsequent 2 visits & resulting need for adjustments, I have the exact opposite opinion......so maybe saying "A-OK" is appropriate

We had a girls getaway for 4 days and ended up here the last day. Thank you Angela! You were great. We had so much fun shopping with you and trying your great dresses on! It was one of our highlights. We are so excited to have these beautiful dresses as souvenirs of our trip. Lots of inventory and diverse fabrics and styles. Thank you for being honest about styles and looks. Well worth the trip here for unique finds.

Wandered into this shop that was dripping with overpriced, albeit artistically commendable hats. Seriously, $550 for a fascinator? That's a robbery without the police involved.Yes, the craftsmanship screams luxury and the sales team can charm the wallet right out of your pocket with their passionate spiel, but let's cut the fluff. Sizes are laughable, tailored for pixies rather than people. My visit was purely academic, an exercise in observing how the other half wastes their wealth. It's more of a museum than a shop, and unless you're throwing cash into a pit, I'd think twice. Ambling around was the only freebie offered--take that over the highway robbery any day.

Visited during a business trip. Beautiful hat selection! Ashley was very helpful and patient. I bought two straw Ingrid hats. They are shipping them for me so I do not have to worry about carrying them on the flight home. Love my hats and can't wait to wear them.
