Came here at 1:30 PM on a Friday with a group of 6 and we waited for around 30 min outside. We ate brunch earlier in the morning so we were mainly just interested in trying out the oysters. The oysters were gigantic, fresh, easily slurpable, and tasty! I would say the oysters were pretty comparable to the ones I had at royal house just down the street the night before. I imagine you can't really go wrong with any of the oyster establishments in the neighborhood.I also ordered a cup of jambalaya on the side. It satisfied my craving but was nothing to write home about. I also tried the fried alligator bites that my friend ordered. The texture reminded me of a tougher version of chicken and tasted pretty decent, just a tad bit salty for my liking.Overall, a great place to get your oyster fix while visiting Nola - just be prepared to wait a bit during peak hours!

First the only positives waiter was nice and cocktail was good. Iberville hurricane Whoever visits New Orleans, don't go by just the reviews, they are overinflated. We ordered dozen of oysters, calamari and alligator plus a cocktail. the appetizers looked like fast food in appearance, mediocre taste and the blackened alligator was cold. The portions lousy like $20 for the cold, overly salted alligator. Then I got sick afterwards not sure from this place to be fair.

Great food spot for traditional NOLA foods and fresh shucked oysters!I have been to Felix's twice after it was recommended to me by a friend. The first time I had the fried alligator and sample plate that had jambalaya, shrimp etoufee, and red beans and rice. The fried gator was delicious, but need larger pieces of gator, they are kind skimpy on the gator. The sample plate was good, but the first time I ordered it I had to ask them to reheat it, so maybe it say in the window too long waiting to be brought to me? I dunno. No matter, though, as it was freaking delicious and a taste of traditional NOLA fixings on a plate.I love watching the staff shuck the oysters and though I am not a fan of oysters, other people seem to really love them and order more than a dozen easily. Definitely try to come early in order to beat the rush and beat the long line of people waiting to get it. You get in faster if you are willing to sit at the countertop.

Didn't love any of the food. Red beans and rice and crawfish ettoufee were good but sautéed crab claws were absolutely disgusting. They were in some odd creamy sauce (as pictured). Our server, Callie, never mentioned anything about them being in a bowl of mysterious sauce and it's not on the menu anywhere. Service wasn't great. We got our appetizer (crab fingers) after we were done with our meal. Server was rude, had an attitude, and was not friendly either. Every time we asked for something she seemed irritated but it's not like she was overly busy. I saw her with her elbow on the bar just waiting for stuff multiple times. We also got 3 appetizers, an iced tea, high noon, and Diet Coke and meal was $99 so this place is pricey also considering how not great service/ food is. Ambiance is ok but it has a strong fishy smell in there. Probably won't be back.

Dropped in Felix's on a recommendation from a friend, and it was exactly as he said!Perfect service from the moment we walked in the door until we left this great restaurant. The lighting, decor, and seating was exactly what you would expect from a land mark restaurant on Bourbon Street. We started with the Chargrill Oysters and a couple of pours of bourbon, and there was a TON of flavor in these bad boys.I went for the stuffed redfish, Slaw, and Brussel sprouts, and everything lived up to the hype. The food was flavorful, presented well, and the variety could not have been better. If you find yourself in the Big Easy, make sure to stop in and experience Felix's for yourself, and I am sure we will agree that this is a great spot to land.

Got to get in line early in the evening. Worth the visit service was fast sitting at the counter with that old school NOLA vibe and ambiance. Oysters had a great Smokey flavor in butter sauce.

Was a little let down. We ordered the gator bites and they were just fried dough and probably only 6 fried dough pieces with no real meat. My wife had the shrimp and grits which were horrible. I ordered crawfish etoufee which came with fried crawfish and tasted burnt. Now the charred oysters were very good. So I'm going to say if you go here stay away from the menu and stick with oysters. The service was good just the food was awful.

Oh man! Consistently Maximum Stars for Felix's. I friggin' love love love love their chargrilled oysters. I can't say they're the best in town as I haven't had them all (yet). But man, I can't go to NOLA without stopping here for some.I also tried the BBQ Shrimp on the last trip and although they were good, I'd say just get the BBQ Shrimp Po Boy instead. It's probably a better value. It's messy but just dig and and wash up afterwards. There might be a line here on certain days, but it was always shorter than the ACME line across the street. Go here... get char-grilled oysters... then thank Joe S.

My uber driver recommended this place being a local stable. So I headed there luggage in tow. When I was there it was quiet right at noon time. Later around dinner the line was around the block. I really wanted to give a higher rating because it's been around for a long time. But for the same reason it feels tired. The old bar area has an old stale smell and the new part looks rundown. The service is friendly and prompt, but the energy is not there. I ordered a bayou sampler and half dozen oyster on half shell. The oysters were sooooo fresh and so fat and juicy. Muah! The trio sampler are crawfish etouffee, jambalaya and red bean and rice. There might be two pieces of crawfish in the etouffee. I also prefer jambalaya without tomato and this creole style is a bit acidic for me. Nevertheless it did the job to fulfill my cravings for the down-home Louisiana flavors.

V was a rockstar! The whole staff was friendly and attentive. Food was truly great! Before our entrees even came, our group was having the best time. The oysters and the gator were delicious! We would easily be back again before we leave town this coming Monday!
