Felipe's Mexican Taqueria - Mid City

We love this place! We ordered the margaritas of course & they were awesome. The flautas & super burrito were amazing. They do not serve anything that doesn't taste amazing. The service was just as great. Becky at the bar gave excellent service. We will definitely be back often. I highly recommend this place.

I wanted authentic and not taco bell. I wasn't too impressed with the nachos though. The protein wasn't that flavorful. I choose spicy chicken but it was just ok. The onions weren't grilled..so yeah... just ok. Service was fast but felt rushed. It was noisy inside also. I loved the outdoor seating though because the weather was favorable. I forgot to take pictures.

I loved this place before yesterday. The service was amazing, but after yesterday I will no longer be returning. I ordered nachos, thankfully I was paying attention as I was eating! There was a silver twist tie in my food. I ate directly outside of the establishment. I brought it to one of the managers attention so as I noticed it. He seemed very concerned, but it just wasn't enough for me. What if I would've ate it being I weren't paying attention ? No one knew where it came from or how it got there because "they don't have anything in their establishment that holds anything with this twist tie so they aren't sure how it ended up on my plate " is what I was told. Clearly they do because it ended up on my plate and the wind didn't just blow it onto my plate! The food was really good before I discovered this. I also don't recall any sort of apology on their behalf for their mistake, but I was offered a brownie. Unfortunately, after this I will not be returning!

Weekday happy hour! We love to see it. They should give more protein with their portion sizes.

Service, food and vibes were all great! I totally prefer this location to the new one out in Metairie. The bartender was training but so attentive and made a great margarita!

Came here with 2 others as they were in the mood for tex-mex, which is usually fine with me. Since it was my first time, I was following the directions on the menu to order a burrito, but the server got really frustrated when I was simply following the directions of choose your entree, protein, toppings, etc. Come on man, it's not like the location was busy at all.The burrito I finally got was just okay, as the steak was a little overcooked, but the veggies and sauce were tasty. I didn't feel like sending it back since my experience at the counter wasn't very nice, plus I was actually hungrier than I thought.Be wary of this location.Currently working with one of the managers about this experience. They are certainly showing care and concern to address this situation in a timely manner.

Felipe's is a solid choice for fast casual Mexican style food. The carnitas and steak are moist and tender. Crispy cabbage, pico, and yummy black or churro beans round out a protein bowl. Don't miss the salsa bar!

This review is based on a catering order for a work-related event. The box lunch consisted of a your-choice-of-protein burrito and tortilla chips and pico de gallo. The chips were light and crispy and the pico was fresh. My steak burrito was 90% refried beans, 5% rice and 5% meat of some sort. I assume it was steak, but it could've been some other part of the cow for all I know. The box it came in was cute, though.

Normally pretty good & effecient staff. The margaritas could use a little tweaking unless you prefer a tart margarita...
