Came here for brunch and had a pleasant experience. There weren't many other customers, but it seems like things pick up later in the day. Our waiter was very nice and jovial. In general, this place has a super friendly vibe and everyone seemed to know everyone and feel at home. The brunch menu is pretty robust, you can get pancakes, French toast, sandwiches, eggs benedict, and more. I decided to get the Lafayette special which came with eggs, grits, potatoes, and a fresh biscuit. The portion was sizeable and the grits were creamy and seasoned well (I could have eaten a whole pot of them)! The biscuit was good, nothing too special in my opinion, but the eggs/potatoes were tasty. It hit the spot - I definitely would like to come back for dinner and a drink if I ever come back to NoLa.

We had reservations after the Saints game & decided to pop in early & the kitchen unfortunately wasn't ready for the dinner menu. So we were seated and had a friendly enough waiter with somewhat funny jokes to break the ice of being disappointed. We ordered from the lunch menu & everything tasted really good but not really really good. It's a nice lil hole in the wall though & started to fill up as it got closer to evening time.

Very ok but I was hungry and tired and just wanted to walk into a casual spot for dinner. Service was good. We could tell the staff was tired from serving wild crowds who were in town for a Saints/ Bears game. We shared the lobster dinner for two. It comes with two lobsters, both about a pound, two salads, two sides and a dessert. It was a good deal for less than $100 for everything. I started with a Pimm's cup, which was the worst cocktail I had on my trip. I couldn't finish it. We had a chocolate cake for dessert even though the menu says the dessert is a bread pudding. Our waitress didn't want to bother the kitchen to ask about my nut allergies so we ended up with a chocolate cake. I didn't mind. The cake was quite good but basic. The presentation was like a cheesecake factory dessert from 1999 but that's ok. I just wanted to eat it.

My mom & I were looking for a place that served lobster tail since our usual go to didn't have it on the menu. Estrella came up on the list. When we got there, I was surprised to find that it was a "hole in the wall." With a name like Estrella Steak & Lobster I expected a fancy steak house. I was a bit skeptical but decided to give it a shot. Our server Brandy was delightful. She had glitter on her face and a bubbly personality. We ordered cocktails (Lemon Drop & French 75), the Louisiana Crab Cakes to start, and the Lobster Tails to share (2 for $33). We also asked for a side of sautéed mushrooms. The crab cakes were huge. Served on a thick slice of French bread and topped with a crawfish mushroom sauce. They were one of the best crab cakes we've had in NOLA. The edges were crisp, and the center was filled with chunks of big, flaky, tender crab meat. The bread was perfect for soaking up all that yummy crawfish mushroom sauce. Our entrees arrived on two separate plates. They even split the side of mushrooms for us. The lobster was perfectly cooked - tender & juicy. It tasted even better when dipped in the drawn butter. The sautéed mushrooms were also tasty. I was pleasantly surprised with how good the food was here. Sometimes the best meals come from a little hole in the wall.

My first time in NOLA and on the first day I like to avoid the usual places. This was my find for lunch. Boy was it a good one. I had a Shrimp Po Boy and it was good. My server, Sarah was a delight. She is a wealth of information about different types of alcohol. It was a fascinating conversation. What really made me really like it was the decor. I really felt like New Orleans. The only thing I was slightly disappointed in was the four televisions-I get it but the sports thing is not my thing. Don't overlook this down to earth, varied menu, friend staff place

Stumbled upon this place for dinner and drinks with friends. At first glance, we were a little worried as the view was slightly underwhelming. Within seconds of walking in, the owner, Amir greeted us all with a friendly and comical welcoming!! The drinks were amazing as was the food! By the end of the night- we felt like long time friends with all of the staff here!!! We loved it so much- we came back the next day for brunch!!! Be sure to check out it this hidden gem!!

Sadly, the food was terrible. We ordered drinks and there was a bug in one cocktail. Between when it was made and got to our table, a bug landed in it. The bartender was at the table when it happened and he quickly made another. We started our meal with the seafood gumbo. When it came out my friend and I immediately were put off by the smell of the gumbo. It smelled extremely fishy. We both took one bite and left it alone after that. It did not taste right and we didn't want to get sick from eating bad gumbo. The gumbo was comped, which we were willing to pay for. We appreciated the company but decided to close out our tab and go elsewhere. Eric was a very nice bartender. We tipped him well.
