I came to this gallery with my partner while we were in NOLA in August. This was one of three galleries that we visited while here. Upon walking in the gallery, we were greeted by Tracey, the gallery owner and artist. I was surprised to meet the artist in person as this is rare as many galleries have their curator greet gallery goers. After Tracey introduced herself, she gave me a history behind the gallery and the types of art that I could find there. As she spoke to my partner and I, she opened a bottle of champagne for us to enjoy (insert happy dance here). I found Tracey's work to eclectic, fresh, funky and personal. She is the type of artist who is passionate about her craft, and it shows. As I walked through the gallery to select a piece, I ended purchased one that Tracey did entitled 2DAY IS 4 REAL https://www.esomart.com/shop/p/untitled-16-x-20-5As my partner and I were tourists in NOLA, she sent to the painting to my home in TX so I didn't have to take it on the plane or arrange to have it sent myself. Tracey was communicative during the entire process, and I am so pleased with work of art. I do intend to buy another from her in the future. A million thank yous Tracey! #supportlocal

What a little gem of a gallery! This part of Magazine is lined with little boutiques and galleries tucked away on the first floor of old southern houses, sharing porches set back from the street by low iron gates. It's a truly idyllic shopping experience. The Esom gallery features mostly large painted work that looks like the way I remember dreams: murky figures with a haze of emotional clarity or serene atmospheric color collages. I love the aesthetic, and the artist himself makes everyone feel completely at home just taking a look while chatting you up about local color. I totally wish I could be taking a piece from here home as my penultimate NOLA souvenir but (sigh) maybe next time.
