Don Villavaso on the Bayou

This is becoming my go-to sports bar and cigar lounge in New Orleans. For starters, they have a chilled out interior with a nicely stocked bar and comfy sofas and dining tables. On the outside is a large covered dining area. In both areas large TVs are plentiful to watch your favorite sports team and cheer your heart out.On this trip, we ordered the wings and the fried chicken sandwich. The onion rings replaced the fries, and my in-laws LOVED them. The wings were meaty and nicely seasoned. I ordered them as a starter and was stuffed after eating 5. My in-laws split the chicken sandwich which was a full boneless chicken breast served on a fresh, soft bun.Our server was excellent in that she was knowledgeable, attentive and gave solid recommendations. I didn't partake this time, but they have a large assortment of cigars in their large humidor.This is an awesome place for a group, a couple or solo. The patrons are always super friendly and the staff is solid.

If drinking nicely crafted cocktails and smoking cigars is your groove then head here. The waitress was attentive and friendly. Our food came out promptly. I orders Brussels sprouts and French fries. My husband had the hamburger. The Brussels sprouts were nice. A little heavy on the chili sauce but the goat cheese and jalapeños were a beautiful combo with the sprouts. The vibes were immaculate and the tables were spacious enough for intimate conversations. If you catch the happy hour from 5-8 it's $20 all you can drink. Will be back!

I love the vibe of this place inside and outside seating cigars bar. The bartender was very welcoming greeted us as we walked in and the music was so on point. They had awesome conversations and offer us their drink specials of course we'll take it. The drinks were very refreshing we didn't have to look for either of the bartenders when wanting a refill. Definitely a place to relax comfortably while feeling the welcoming of the staff alone with the other people whom came in. YES!!! Definitely telling my friends about this place.

Sorry not sorry. Uber eats and poor customer service did not work in your favor. I orders two items chips & salsa and dirty rice. No! These things do not go together. I wanted something crunchy. My friends go to get the orders. Come to find out they don't serve chips and salsa anymore. Wait. You mean to tell me that you can't refund my money out the register? also you didn't make the half of my order that you could make? AND the lady at the restaurant was snarky with my friends? Clearly this is an on-going issue. This is a restaurant. Order bulk chips and jarred salsa. It's late night. Who will honestly know? And the rice is both mushy and crunchy. How, Sway?2 stars is gracious. I don't like to write these types of reviews but I must be honest about my experience. It's edible enough but the crunchiness is unnerving. My friends seem to be enjoying what they ordered well enough. We've agreed to never go back. The person at the register didn't show any grace. That would have gone a long way and perhaps this review would not have been so low.

The vibe, food, and people at Don Villavosa were are great. It had a lounge feel but really good food and a range of options like lamb chops or the biggest cheeseburger patty I've seen in a long time. Everything tasted good. The cigar expert was very knowledgeable and made a great recommendation for me.

This is one of just a handful of cigar lounges in the area. The bar is fully stocked with a wide variety of options. The staff is very helpful and attentive to all customers. FYI the lamb chops are seasoned to perfect, an absolute must try!!

I was in town to visit some friends so this was a first time visit. I like the way they had their patio set up social distances service with masks and a decent menu. My friend and I didn't stay long as we got a call and had to leave but we did have time to have a couple drinks they will be fine and I will be able to come back the next time I'm in the city

I stopped in after work with a friend for drinks. We sat on the patio. The inside was empty but there were a few people outside. We ordered the same drink but when they came out we noticed that they looked different. We inquired and were told they ran out of the mix and had to make one from scratch. The one from scratch was more transparent. My friend ordered another of that same drink and it looked different again. It was even more transparent. Then I ordered another and it was even more transparent. So, don't expect consistency in the drinks. I ordered onion rings and they brought out a plate full. They are generous in their portions. The onion rings were really good. I got a side of ketchup and ranch and was satisfied. There were not many options on the menu. Especially in the order of appetizers or happy hour types of things. They probably should consider adding a few more items.I noticed that they didn't have any music playing. I bet if they did people would stick around longer. I don't know if it was an oversight or they just don't play music. I'm not suggesting blasting the music but just something in the background for ambiance. There was a big lot with plenty of parking but if the place fills up parking might become an issue. I plan to return because I enjoyed the atmosphere on the patio, my drinks, and my onion rings.

Lollichops!!! Absolutely delicious. Do yourself a favor and eat here. Crawfish pasta was yummy too.
