I have been coming here for years and remains one of my all time favorite neighborhood restaurant in New Orleans. It's a hidden gem owned but sweet Sandy and is always here with a smile.. the food is amazing. The gumbo is to die for, very flavorful. The Cole slaw is unique and so good. Now the shrimp po boy is is so so good... always remember there are small owned restaurants everywhere and like the rest of us, struggle when times are bad and thrive when time are good and no matter the doors stay open to keep us amazing food and endless pours...

Food and service were good. The star for me was the potato salad and the onion rings.

Thursday night is the night to go here for the specials. It is meatball and pasta night as well as chicken parmigiana night. The meatballs are massive and boy are they tasty. The red sauce is sweet and compliments the meatballs very well. The chicken parm is 2 huge pieces of paneed chicken breast covered in mozzarella on top of the same sweet red sauce and pasta. You will most likely leave with a box because the portion is huge. Get there early though because they do sell out. If all else fails, their fried chicken is still amazing.

I would definitely recommend this hidden gem food is delicious they are busy most of the time,so service can be a little slower, but nothing wrong with a little wait if it's worth it.

In an unassuming location behind the gas station on Harrison street in Lakeview is a small little restaurant tha.. The outside looks worn, the inside feels like walking into an old family restaurant that might be last it's prime, but the spirit remains the same. The service is pleasant. The menu is classic. And the food tastes like it sticks to your ribs. We came on a Wednesday evening closer to closing time, so it wasn't very busy. There were two other groups in the dining area and a few people at the bar (FYI, no draft beers). Our waitress was friendly and I have no complaints there. We ended up getting a 2 piece fried chicken dinner and a chicken and ribs combo. When you come to a place with "chicken and ribs" in the name, I think you need to give both a try! I will say that the food took longer to come out than I expected, considering how few people there were, but it's not fast food and it's an excuse to enjoy the company that you are with. So how was the food?Fried chicken - Excellent. Very crispy, perfectly seasoned. Some of the better fried chicken that I've had. Mashed potatoes - also very good. The gravy was the best part and had tons of flavorRibs - very tender. Literally falling apart when you grab it. Good flavor but my biggest complaint is the sweetness of the BBQ sauce. I know this is a personal preference so I wont ding them for that, but while I like a sweet BBQ sauce, I generally prefer BBQ sauce that isn't this sweet. Corn on the cob - nothing special. I thought it said you got 2 on the menu, but they only gave me one. Not a big deal. It was boiled and tastes like boiled corn on the cob. Potato salad - pretty solidRolls - decentOverall a nice local joint. We will be back!Ambiance - 3 starsFood - 4 starsService - 4 stars

We ordered their Thursday daily special for lunch, and I knew I had to come back to edit my review! We got their chicken parmesan lunch special (each day has a different featured item) for only $12. It was HUGE!! The amount of chicken, the red sauce pasta... That's a Texas-sized portion if I ever saw one! For only $12, you could split this meal and have half for dinner and still be full!! And, the quality was superb. The meat was tender and juicy, fried to perfection in flavorfully seasoned breading. Plenty of cheese too. The pasta was an angel hair pasta with a tomato sauce that was a bit on the sweeter side (I didn't mind at all, but it's a personal preference).I also ordered their sweet potato fries ($6 - large). Exactly what you would want in sweet potato fries: crispy and tasty!DELICIOUS. HUGE PORTIONS. PHENOMENAL.

Food: average chicken. Cold at lunch. The rest is standard New Orleans lunch fare. Loud fun neighborhood place. Busy. Limited parking. Good for a fast, fast food chicken lunch!

This was our last stop before hitting the airport back to California! Was a great meal! Fried chicken is finger licking good! Our server Chris was hilarious. We really enjoyed his sense of humor.

The seafood and the string beans are tasty. Unfortunately, the amount of food doesn't equate to the price. Local seafood markets, like Castnet have double the amount of food for that price. This is considered a seafood platter.
